Psst. Right now the UK Government are trying to extinguish the right to asylum and remove the rights of some of the most vulnerable people in society.
So, here’s a few things they don't want you to be reminded of…
I know OFSTED is a hot topic right now, but as parents who lost a child in a nursery, to have them come and visit us, in our own home and make us feel like the worst parents in the world when they uttered the question "Did you ask to see the nurseries certificates, or first aid ones?".. I replied angriliy "they're f--king regulated by you!". We felt like we had failed our son, as first time parents. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth now thinking about that day. We both cried when they left. Then to find out they gave heads up to the nurseries owner following the initial suspension of a visit to his premesis which allowed him to hand back his registration and OFSTED never visited his premesis as he was "no longer a registered provider". We feel like they failed our son, not us.
The UK Government are trying to rip up the human rights of some of the most vulnerable people in society.
So, here’s a little thread of some of the things they don’t want you to be reminded of right now:
@Career_Cupid Didn’t know anything about you before this tweet. I see your grief and I’m sorry for it. May the joyful memories lighten the weight of living with loss. I hope you are able to smile as well as cry (even if it takes a while to get there) xxx
@charliersmith1 I love this photo because of your smile ❤️ also your green drink makes me think of wagamamas and my husband thought I was being rude when I first proposed it as a date location x
@Sanctummid That’s dreadful, so sorry to hear this. Hoping good health returns and karma bites the people that have made a difficult period worse for you x
@LeylsTurk My heart is no longer my own, it beats inside three independent (mini) people and my life is richer for it, despite the pain and frustration it also brings. I am so much prouder of their achievements than my own, not because I love myself less but because I love them SO MUCH more
My daughters portrait of me for her leaving cert last year. She won't share it so I will ! What a talent . Twitter give this one a RT if you see what I see
Stripping ur clothes off outside your front door, asking your husband to clear a path and make sure kids weren’t in it…
… in order to run to the shower and wash and disinfect, horrified you might infect your 2 babies and your husband
I remember that
Today the children were playing ‘coronavirus’ 🦠
It’s basically ‘stuck in the mud’ but when you tag someone you have to shout ‘isolate’ and you free someone by tapping them while shouting ‘vaccinate’ 😂
93k NHS staff vacancies. £6bn spend on temporary staff to fill gaps. 55% of staff working unpaid extra hours each week. 44% saying they've felt ill with work related stress. NHS desperately needs long term workforce planning. Govt must make this happen this week. R/T if you agree
@cbucksrules @Pantalaimon_3 @DrJessTaylor So wedding photos are okay as long as no one is kissing, a parent with their new baby isn’t one to be shared if it’s in hospital, I don’t follow this logic at all… 🥴😐🤔 Confront this for what it is, a prejudice and desire to police female bodies and their functions.
@cbucksrules@DrJessTaylor If it’s allowed anywhere and everywhere then social media is included. Having fed three babies with my body from birth (so minimum 8-12 times a day at least initially), I think requiring the avoidance of photos would have filtered my life significantly...
Hard to fully described how irritating this is. Younger people sacrificed 18 months of their lives to keep older people safe. Now they're told by older people to give up the improved quality of life they found on the way.
