Great to see this public update on plans for #NCN5 in Abingdon. Sustrans was able to bring funding and engineers to the table two years ago to develop the outline design. Kudos to councillors and officers for their ongoing support.
A £1.5m scheme to fix a “missing link” in the national cycle route across Abingdon is set to go ahead. 2 parallel and 2 zebra crossings, 3 raised tables, and a cycle contraflow will create a new through route on National Cycle Network 5 where cyclists currently have to dismount.

Some good stuff here from Louise Haigh: 'Growth, net zero, opportunity, women and girls' safety, health - none of these can be realised without transport as a key enabler'. I hope her 'obsession' with buses extends to bus and active travel integration. https://t.co/2z06dgQqCJ
Well done @RadleyLakes for a marvellous 'Lakes & Cakes' event. I could hear the fabulous singing from my bike/car parking management spot. Over 100 people travelled by bike today, along the #NationalCycleNetwork- here are the bikes in all their different shapes and sizes.
Great to hear @laura_laker reflecting on her travels along the #NationalCycleNetwork. I'm sure the book will inspire many more people to explore the Network. Thanks @EmilyKerr36 and Caper for hosting!

Bats, water voles, egrets, and muntjac are just four animals seen along NCN41 in Lawrence Weston. Great launch event to celebrate recent improvements to this key wildlife corridor, connecting residents to employment in Avonmouth. @ambitionlw thanks for hosting us!
This is great news. Investment will take a long time, but everything needs to start with a plan, and this is it. Nice to see Sustrans' National Cycle Network playing a role in connecting the county.
The concept of a countywide cycle network for Oxfordshire has got the go-ahead. The Strategic Active Travel Network, approved at a meeting this afternoon, will link towns, villages and railway stations through traffic-free and low-traffic routes. https://t.co/PEUbeKDCtZ
8 in 10 parents & carers say zebra crossings on side roads would make them feel safer walking their children to school. Today we've announced new side road zebra trials to help @WestMids_CA and @greatermcr with their devolution deals. Watch our video with @Chris_Boardman 🦓🚶♂️👩🦽🛴
Delighted to see my team win this work, with PJA, to deliver a vital first step in developing a network of walking and cycling routes to help relieve a far too congested city. https://t.co/klt27PaWoQ
