“She served her sentence, reunited with her family, living a full, productive life, a contributing member of our community, and it came up that she, as a felon, is very unsure if she has the right to vote,” said @RepTammyWest

🎉Thank you @GovStitt for signing HB4113 into law this week, clarifying voting rights for individuals with a criminal record.
Grateful for the leadership of @TammyWestOK and Senator Rader on this important legislation.
Clear pathways to the rights and responsibilities of citizenship honor human dignity and strengthen communities.
@GovStitt has consistently recognized April as Second Chance Month. I am thankful for a Governor who sees the importance of second chances and who took the time this week to listen to why second chances deeply matter to those who work and volunteer for Prison Fellowship
📢 Thank you, @GovStitt, for declaring April as #SecondChanceMonth in the state of #Oklahoma!
We also want to thank Governor Stitt for taking the time to hear second chance stories from @prisonfellowshp staff and volunteers. Thank you for believing in the dignity and potential of men and women with a criminal record.
Exciting news! The driver's license bill (SB1479) just cruised through the Tennessee Senate with a 32-0 vote! 🎉
This game-changing bill, championed by Senator @ToddGardenhire, will empower individuals who held a valid driver's license before prison to regain their license upon release.
Possessing a driver's license helps individuals better reintegrate into society by ensuring they don’t have to rely on others for transportation to get to work, report to their probation or parole officer, or participate in community and family activities. This is a huge step towards successful reintegration into society.
Tonya and I went to prison today at the @TDCJ Sycamore Unit! We left inspired by the great work Prison Fellowship Academy is doing! Their faith-centered program is helping women rebuild their lives with a 7% recidivism rate, proving that redemption and rehabilitation can work!
We were thrilled to be a part of Governor Stitt’s ceremonial signing for HB1460 today!
This bill eliminates a few of the court fees assessed in the criminal justice system. Thank you, @GovStitt, for consistently prioritizing reducing overburdensome court debt in Oklahoma.
We are thankful for the leadership of @FinesandFeesJC, @RepTammyWest and Senator Gollihare on this bill, and the opportunity to collaborate with so many national and Oklahoma partners to pass this impactful legislation! @RightOnCrime@OKJusticeReform@JusticeActionUS@OKPolicy
JUST IN: OK @GovStitt just hosted a ceremonial signing for #HB1460, the broadest Republican-led fee elimination bill in US history.
For years, fees weakened OK’s economy, eroded public trust, & trapped its residents in a cycle of debt.

In @GovernorStitt’s State of the State address in Oklahoma today, he highlighted the hardships that overburdensome fines and fees cause.
“It’s time to reform this system and get rid of what is essentially a debtors’ prison. We know that high fees keep people trapped in this cycle and contribute to higher recidivism.”

Thank you, @GovernorStitt, for holding a ceremonial signing to celebrate the passage of SB11 in Oklahoma! This bill, led by Senator Rader and Representative Pae, will help provide more higher education opportunities to incarcerated students. @RightOnCrime@CCofOklahoma@obunews@OKJusticeReform
BREAKING NEWS: @POTUS officially declared April 2024 as #SecondChanceMonth. Thank you, Biden Administration, for declaring your support in removing unnecessary barriers for the 1 in 3 American adults with a criminal record for the 4th consecutive year.

“Access to housing is a critical step for individuals who have served their time and reintegrate into society,” said ROC OK Director @marilyndavidson. “This bill does not require property owners to lease to individuals they deem a safety risk, but it does establish a fair and transparent process. Lawmakers have an opportunity to address recidivism by supporting H.B. 3499, a conservative approach to improve public safety.”

🚨🚨The #Tennessee House just unanimously passed HB2728 to provide opportunities for qualifying individuals to report to their #probation officer virtually. Thank you @JeremyFaison4TN for your leadership on this meaningful reform!
Worshipping with Lauren Daigle and the women at Eddie Warriors is such a sweet memory. I have never seen so much joy and longing for Jesus. A true glimpse of Heaven.
What an incredible event! Christian music artist Lauren Daigle stopped by the Eddie Warrior Correctional Center recently, performing several of her hit songs and encouraging the women. Thanks to Lauren Daigle and Prison Fellowship for coordinating this fabulous event. #ODOCProud
