Some of our Sarah Redfern High School staff have developed a Professional Bookclub.
This morning saw pragmatic discussions around having a growth mindset.
It’s always a good reminder that we can focus on changing the way we think to not only fulfil our potential.
Our Beginning Teacher’s conference allows us to work with our BT’s so they can see how they are the change makers in our setting. They focused on differentiation, AI, behaviour management and having a growth mindset! @LyndyClowry@_iEndo @AdamEducator @GeorgiaYakimov
SRHS staff enjoyed a day at the Australian Museum for SDD. Ms Potts and Ms Dawson opened with a traditional Aboriginal Cleansing Ceremony. We focused on developing our understanding around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history and language.

Staff celebrated the end of Term 1 and all of their hard work and consistent dedication to SRHS with a morning tea today.
It is always a pleasure coming together and having a moment to chat and reflect on the term that has gone by.

A lovely chat this arvo with teacher mentors and beginning teachers. SRHS’s goal is to help beginning teachers refine and develop their teaching practice. We have a consistent vision of continual school improvement through programs for staff and students. 👏
Great collaborative practice with secondary schools in the St Andrew’s Network to discuss Curriculum Reform and establish networks to support colleagues. We are stronger together @_iEndo@HighIngleburn@SarahRedfernHS@JamesMeehanHS
SRHS Beginning Teacher Program.
Today, 12 staff engaged in PL delivered by Michael Waterhouse PSM on ‘Essential Legal Knowledge for Beginning Teachers’
All staff walked away feeling more informed, supported and knowledgeable when faced with complex and challenging situations.
Shoutout to the amazing Liz Sculley who signs off tomorrow after a 30-year career in Public Ed; last 10 as Deputy. I’ve been privileged to work w/ Liz: from giving me my 1st casual day, to supporting our work in curriculum & EC teachers ✅

Great work undertaken by our students, staff, and our Elder-in-Residence, Dr. Shayne Williams in the Support Aboriginal culture class this week ✅ @LyndyClowry @AdamEducator @DiKelly18@_iEndo@NSWEducation
Uncle Shayne joined our Year 7 Support Culture class yesterday afternoon and showed us how to make Johnny Cakes. Ss really enjoyed getting their hands into the batter and learning how to make staple bush food with minimal ingredients.
So much fun today with our Year 7 Support 2023 Orientation Day! Ss joined 4 sessions focused on literacy profiles, art, wellbeing and cooking. They were all fantastic! See you all next year 😁☺️😊
Relished our first post-lockdown Beginning Teachers Conference in Brighton-Le-Sands, with a Welcome to Country from our Elder in Residence, Dr. Shayne Williams. Loads of awesome workshops led by BTs, middle leaders, and our Deputy Principals. Theme: Humanocracy. @NSWEducation
@camthomson16 simulating a parent during a video role play for my uni assignment. As HT Support, I followed up a meeting and presented various forms of assessment and data to address concerns and discuss plans to support this student inc an FBA, student PLaSP and literacy data.
Well done to our own Cameron Rodgers on winning the NSW Teachers Guild Award for excellence as an early-career teacher. We’re incredibly lucky to have your skills, passion, & energy benefiting our students and teachers everyday ✅

Just finished my last official class of my M Inclusive Ed course. Just a few more assessments and completion of my placement over the next few weeks and I’ll complete my Inclusive Practices DoE scholarship 😁😁😁
Last term @SarahRedfernHS unveiled some beautiful changes to their library space. 😍📚
The school worked with community to rename the space The Lyrebird Library – the symbol of the traditional custodians, the Dharawal people.
