கரூரில் சாலை போடாமலேயே ரூ 4.68 கோடி வரை சங்கர் ஆனந்த் ஒப்பந்ததாரருக்கு மாநில நெடுஞ்சாலை துறையில் மார்ச் 2022இல் பணம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது.

சாலை போட்டது போல Measurement புத்தகமும் மோசடியாக மார்ச் 2022 இல் எழுதப்பட்டு விட்டது.

இந்த ஊழல் வெளிவந்த பிறகு, அப்போதைய அமைச்சர் எ வ வேலு பார்வைக்கும் போன பிறகு , FIR போட்டு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்காமல் காவல்துறையை குவித்து சாலையை ஏப்ரல் மாதம் போட முயற்சி செய்தார்கள். ஒப்பந்ததாரரை காப்பாற்ற செய்யப்பட்ட அப்பட்டமான செயல்.

அப்பட்டமாக ஆதாரங்களை அழிக்கும் முயற்சியிலும் ஈடுபட்டு உள்ளார்கள்.

கரூர் சாலை ஒப்பந்தங்களில் 2021-22 ஆம் ஆண்டில் போடப்பட்ட 170 கோடிகளில் 110 கோடி ஒப்பந்தம் சங்கர் ஆனந்த் ஒப்பந்ததாரருக்கு மட்டும் சென்றுள்ளது. 20 out of 31 tenders went to him alone!

A case has been registered under three sections against DMK MLA Anita R. Radhakrishnan for allegedly making defamatory remarks about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay during a public meeting held in Athoor, Thoothukudi district.

The case includes sections related to making provocative statements that could incite unrest.

He had allegedly spoken in a derogatory manner, claiming that Chief Minister Vijay was at home with an actress...

Following a complaint lodged by TVK functionaries, a case has been registered at the Athoor Police Station.

Qatar Fire Accident: Tirunelveli Youth Dies

In a tragic explosion and fire accident that occurred on Sunday night at the Barzan gas plant in Ras Laffan city, Qatar, a 26-year-old youth named Pavith from Radhapuram in Tirunelveli district lost his life.

The plant had been shut down since December 2025 for maintenance work and was brought back into operation only two days ago. A technical fault that occurred at that time is said to be the cause of the accident.

A total of 13 workers have died in the incident. The deceased include workers from India and Pakistan. Among them, 12 are Indians, according to confirmation from the Indian Embassy.

Anti-Corruption Raids Across RTO Offices in Tamil Nadu: Lakhs of Rupees Seized in Bundles

What action will the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu take?

In a surprise operation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Department across Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), Motor Vehicle Inspector offices, and driving schools allegedly functioning as intermediaries in Tamil Nadu, a total of ₹31,85,700 in unaccounted cash was seized.

In addition, suspicious GPay transactions amounting to ₹5,95,468 were also detected during the raids. The investigations are currently underway to determine the source and purpose of these transactions.

Tragic road accident near Sankarankovil, Tirunelveli district.

Saradha (56), a government school teacher from Mesiyapuram, lost her life after a car collided with her two-wheeler while she was attempting to cross the Sankarankovil–Tirunelveli main road on her way to school this morning.

She was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital in Palayamkottai but sadly succumbed to her injuries on the way.

CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced, creating shock among local residents. Police are investigating the incident.
