1. The 2009 Oilers Throwback was only to celebrate the AFL’s 50th and was mandated by the NFL. They were not worn before or after.
2. Even with the One Helmet rule, the Oilers most famous helmet was a white shell, which the Titans used until 2018.

@movethemchains I agree that the team has no ties to the oilers, but our city still does. That’s why it’s frustrating to see Tennessee try to lean into that identity after they left it behind and tried to bury it for so long. It’d be different if they just stayed the Oilers, but they didn’t.
