Ok, so really sick of all the lies being spread against Vinesh since yesterday, hence, writing this long post for those genuinely interested in the truth.

1. Fake Narrative - Vinesh had no business fighting in 50 Kg category and she should've stuck to 53 Kg one.

Truth: She wanted to go in 53 Kg. But Antim had already secured the Olympic quota in 53kg (by winning a bronze at the 2023 World Championships when Vinesh was injured). Still she had hope because, in 2022, WFI had amended its selection policy and decided that the top four wrestlers in every class would compete among themselves in order to determine a challenger for the Olympic-quota winners. But Vinesh fought to contest in both 50 Kg and 53 Kg as she doubted the WFI would hold the promised trials. WFI went back on its promise thus proving her concerns valid. Had she not contested in the 50 Kg trials, she wouldn't be in Olympics today. During the Patiala trials, Vinesh even said to give in writing that there would be a wrestle off conducted vs Antim in 53kg if she took part only in that category. But ad hoc committee refused to give in writing.

2. Fake Narrative - Vinesh protested because she wanted special treatment and didn't want trials.

Truth: Actually, it was only Vinesh who wanted trials. It's the other athletes who didn't want trials and wanted to go to Olympics as per the quota they had won. They were not wrong as Olympics were only a few weeks away from 10th June when trials were supposed to happen. They wanted to focus on preparations. But here, it's the WFI which didn't follow its own policy.

3. Fake Narrative - Vinesh lost in 53 Kg trials so she chose 50 Kg.

Truth: It's the funniest and most sinister propaganda of all. WFI didn't even conclude the trials. Everyone is citing her 10-0 loss in semifinal with Anju and they believe Anju went on to fight Antim and then Antim won and that's how it all happened. Some are even saying Vinesh lost to Antim! No. Vinesh had already reached in top 4 when she played that semifinal so that match was inconsequential & she offered no defence in that match. The top 4 (including Vinesh) were to fight in the 53 Kg final trials. But WFI cancelled the trials as explained above. So, there is no question of Vinesh losing in this category.

If someone still spreads fake narrative and lies, for me, it only means they are propagandists who can never be trusted on any issue. Best to block them and move on.

चुनाव से पहले एक बार फिर EVM के सभी वोटों की गिनती VVPAT की पर्चियों से कराने की मांग उठी है. मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पहुंच गया है. इस मामले पर सुनवाई की अगली तारीख 16 अप्रैल तय की गई है

मार्च 2023 में एसोसिएशन फॉर डेमोक्रेटिक रिफॉर्म्स (ADR) ने 100% EVM वोटों और VVPAT की पर्चियों का मिलान करने की मांग को लेकर याचिका दायर की थी. सुप्रीम कोर्ट की जस्टिस संजीव खन्ना और जस्टिस दीपांकर दत्ता की बेंच इस पर सुनवाई कर रही है.

इससे पहले एक्टिविस्ट अरुण कुमार अग्रवाल ने भी ऐसी ही मांग को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिका दायर की थी. उनकी याचिका पर जस्टिस बीआर गवई और जस्टिस संदीप मेहता की बेंच ने चुनाव आयोग को नोटिस भी जारी किया था. लेकिन अब 16 अप्रैल को इन दोनों ही याचिकाओं पर जस्टिस खन्ना और जस्टिस दत्ता की बेंच सुनवाई करेगी

एडीआर ने अपनी याचिका में कहा है कि स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष चुनाव के लिए EVM के वोटों और VVPAT की पर्चियों को क्रॉस-वेरिफाई किया जाना चाहिए.
