@tapfornerd@FreddyLA7 It’s their Space Station too. Germany (via the European Space Agency) contributed significantly to ISS, including the Columbus module. Part of the flight control team is in Munich….
@garywfuller@SciGuySpace Definitely younger with Art -2, most of the former shuttle guys have retired. Also space station is way younger, the 24/7 shift work tends to demand that. A lot of those people also work Artemis part time.
@garywfuller@SciGuySpace Ahh. The launch of that one tended to have the longest tenured bunch. Of the flight directors, one was in his 30s, two in their 40s, one in his 50s. I also worked that mission in my 40s. The controllers shown were a mix of some of the oldest guys and one was in his 40s.
@mattlanza I walked into the National Weather Service office at NASA JSC yesterday morning and this was the first thing they showed me! And then I realized - I think my wife probably sees me this way.
See #Starliner commander Butch Wilmore and pilot @Astro_Suni during the ascent phase of the Crew Flight Test. Hear the astronauts from inside the cabin during their flight to the @Space_Station.

@spacesudoer NASA employee. In any event, everyone who actually works in the industry is a huge fan of all things space. Mark Nappi (the Boeing VP) even said in the press conference yesterday he enjoys watching the Starlink launches from his porch.
#Starliner ascends to the heavens!
Congratulations to @NASA, @BoeingSpace, and @ulalaunch. Today's launch is a milestone achievement for the future of spaceflight.
Butch and Suni—safe travels through the stars. See you back home.
United Launch Alliance successfully launches the first crewed #Starliner! This inaugural human spaceflight launch marks the beginning of a new era for ULA and extends the Atlas legacy, echoing the launch of U.S. astronaut John Glenn aboard a heritage Atlas rocket from Cape Canaveral, in 1962. https://t.co/bseR7tWi8D
A very successful mission dress rehearsal is complete! This was the last integrated training event before launch. I was fortunate to be able to observe the crew with @AstroIronMike while @Saturn_Flight led the MCC activities. Go #Starliner! Go CFT!
@SpaceCityWX Bad wording. The only nugget of possible truth here is that I think the days of CREWED aircraft penetrating higher risk areas of the storm is definitely limited, someday that will be done by drones.
@UgochiKHOU@KHOU The patrons of that club (Liquid Lounge) are nothing but trouble when it closes at 5 AM. You should do a piece on how they are able to serve that late. Plenty of video on their Instagram feed.
@SheriffEd_HCSO Glad that he is OK. I live near this area and trust you will investigate why an armed off duty deputy is at this particular lounge parking lot (which is the source of many complaints to HPD) at 5:30 AM on a Sunday.
Earthset. 🌎
@NASA_Orion captured this shot of Earth “setting” while the spacecraft passed close to the Moon. Nearly 270,000 miles (430,000 km) away, #Artemis I will soon surpass Apollo 13’s record-setting distance from Earth in a spacecraft designed to carry astronauts.
