Today was about true exploration as we all explored a part of the central uplift that I had never visited before. And what discoveries we made, reminding us of how Kamestastin is such a unique analogue for the Moon #Kamestastin2023#Artemis#ToTheMoon#exploration
This is RIGHT NOW. @NASA_Orion is looking back at Earth and the Moon from distant retrograde orbit. Watch the #Artemis I livestream: https://t.co/Qx1QFUdD08
Our @NASAArtemis#Orion spacecraft is making #selfie history, capturing itself with our entire home planet and all of mankind. It’s plain to see from this perspective that we humans are truly one, all in this together in our one common home. Almost halfway to the Moon already!
A bit of perspective: 11 Shuttles had to be rolled back to fix something. 2 of them had to be rolled back twice. When #Artemis_1 flies, nobody will remember the delays - had something gone wrong today, however, we’d have remembered it for a long time. So: go Artemis!
Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to Cape Canaveral on Monday for the first launch of NASA's Artemis program. The launch was scrubbed after a cascade of last-minute problems. Harris told reporters regrouping is part of the process of innovation.

Spacesuit news ahead!
On June 1, @NASA will announce the company or companies that have been selected to move forward in developing the next generation spacesuits for #Artemis missions to the Moon and the @Space_Station. https://t.co/GqHTWY3YX3
This video of a red-tailed hawk seemingly suspended in the air earned Bill Bryant the win for the Audubon Society 2021 Award in the video category [source: https://t.co/grL2iMmx12]. The hawk's head is perfectly still while its body stabilizes around it
@WrayCharles This makes me think of how many YEARS it took me to feel confident I deserved a seat at the table in a NASA conference room meeting. Fostering a culture that encourages engagement from all experience levels means people take more ownership of their work #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
I’m fortunate to work with an amazing team at NASA’s NBL. As the Artemis Program Extravehicular Activities (EVA) Training Lead, I must consult and evaluate our training facilities to develop the best training grounds for our return to Moon. That's me kneeling on the left.
Kill the lights – we’re simulating a Moonwalk!
Divers at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory turned off the lights to simulate what an Artemis astronaut might experience at the lunar south pole - long, dark shadows.
Here it is: humanity’s final look at @NASAWebb as it heads into deep space to answer our biggest questions. Alone in the vastness of space, Webb will soon begin an approximately two-week process to deploy its antennas, mirrors, and sunshield. #UnfoldTheUniverse
Nature photographer and stormchaser Brian Emfinger went to Iceland to document the eruption of Fagradalsfjall volcano. Here are his best shots of the event, including spectacular drone photos: https://t.co/1WPPV1Fz9b [drone videos: https://t.co/ML4DIJiqGc]
The data we collected on this expedition will help us to understand our own planet better, and to plan safe scientific investigations on the Moon and Mars in the future. Learn more about our work in Iceland and around the world: https://t.co/rX9BdtFnSA
Inside the Askja Caldera (Iceland) is a layer of golden pumice (seen here) which was the result of an eruption in 1875. The eruption preserved the annual snowpack forming an ice layer in the stratigraphy. Yes, these rocks float on water!
LIVE NOW: Meet the newest group of future @NASA_Astronauts!
We're introducing our next class of astronaut candidates, who will begin training in January. https://t.co/0MDI1qtfu3
