Farm Terrace was our beautiful allotment site. The council wanted to build flats and a car park on it. We took the case to High court but in the end Goliath won.
This is what is happening because of allotment shortages "Woodbridge Town Council said to reduce its waiting list for plotsit decided to cap the tenancies to five years.
They said (the familiar line) " it was an extremely difficult decision" to make!
Those poor plot holders!

So it turns out the hospital 🏥didn't need the extra land after all. We would love to say we are shocked but we said that would be the case right from the start!
My letter @Observer_Owl If the hospital is in the position to sell land then surely part of the #allotment land could have been kept as an allotment site? The hostility that Dorothy Thornhill and her council demonstrated does not seem justified now!

Read my comments about the land grab here... Watford Hospital does need a good (free) car park but putting it on the allotments which are quite far down if you are walking makes no sense at all! It really is paving paradise!

@Saralimback Thank you for your support over the years. Although we couldn't save our site I hope our story gives others hope that there is a fight to be had and reminds people that allotments are sadly extremely vulnerable to developers and need to be protected as indeed does all green space
This is absolutely heartbreaking. Bug love to @SaveFarmTerrace and all the other plot holders at this site. Sadly the fight is continuing on other sites
