Parents, take your child’s learning into your own hands! Every student can qualify for the ESA scholarship in Arizona. Don’t know where to start? We will help.
Removing the Home/Apartment rental tax would save Arizona renters $100-$200 per year.
Yet, Governor Hobbs Vetoed the rental tax repeal bill today. This idea that she's a Governor for the people is now officially a lie!
Watch, she'll Veto the grocery food tax repeal bill next!
@SaveOurKidAzESA@arizona_sos I am speaking from experience. Literally not a single child that I have ever come into contact with that has been homeschooled is normal. Been teaching since 2002. SUCK IT WEIRDO.
@rebelEducator Think of all the time wasted in the classroom:
• Taking attendance
• Making announcements
• Passing out homework
• Getting kids to stay quiet and well-behaved
• Repeating a lesson only for a small number of kids who didn't understand
When kids aren’t mired down by all the bureaucracy and nonsense of traditional school, they can get their actual learning work done in a couple hours a day.
And then they can, you know, have a childhood.
Which is what kids are *supposed* to be doing.
New study shows that using screens between ages of 3-5 decreases kids' ability to calm themselves down (emotionally regulate)
Effect is worst in boys
Screens are easier but your kids will be served better by travel toys, fidgets, or books (especially your boys)❤️
When my kids transferred from Montessori to the “best” public school in Broward Cty at 4 + 8, they called it a “learning prevention center.” We pulled them out, my son read Gonick’s “Cartoon History of the Universe” in 2 days, learned more than he would have in a year at school.
This is ridiculous. A child shouldn’t be forced to attend a school that isn’t the right fit for them as a prerequisite to a family accessing education choice.
The NH Senate should kill this bill with all deliberate speed.
@MsMurph_ Radically individualized. Compare w food: We have restaurants, from fast food to middle brow chains to gourmet, vegan + farm 2 market, along w grocery stores, farmer’s markets, grow your own, convenience stores, specialty mail order, etc. millions of options. So too w Ed freedom
It's a fact: learning isn't the goal in school.
Passing is the goal.
Or getting a 90.
Maybe a B+.
The latter are all make-believe. Totally abstract. Arbitrary. Irrelevant in the longterm. & yet, that's all we can talk about.
Most kids do as little as possible to get grade needed to get parents off their back, stay on the team, get into college they want. I’ve met dozens of edtech entrepreneurs who are excited about getting kids to learn more effectively. But that is not the game being played.
I am oppressed. Just .17% of the world’s population has both red hair and blue eyes. As I am in a minority with these characteristics, I am clearly qualified to work in any administrative position in the US government. Don’t be a bigot, hire me. #GingerLivesMatter
Story: XFL QB A.J. McCarron said he could’ve remained in NFL as a backup for better money but wanted to actually play in order to be able to create moments for his kids.
"My 6 year old loves watching me. That’s a big reason I chose to return this way.”
Right now there are numerous pieces of school choice legislation in the works across the country. In Florida, a Senate education expansion bill is moving forward. The Prewitt family, who has a son with special needs, showed their support for the bill. https://t.co/kWjbb2XaiI
Virginia Walden Ford's powerful piece is about the hope that educational freedom gives to students and their families. That hope could be coming for students in Arkansas with the Education Freedom Account program. Read her full article today. https://t.co/b9WPV6ofX0
