🇵🇰 Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed criticized Pakistan’s military “dictatorship” Sunday, saying “democracy is not being allowed to take its place.”
Speaking at the Pakistan Association of America’s annual gathering in metro Detroit, El-Sayed condemned the imprisonment and intimidation of political leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and called for human rights and democratic governance.
El-Sayed drew a parallel to Egypt, where his parents immigrated from, citing its history of military dictatorship and arguing that neither government should be shielded from criticism, or receive US aid, simply because they are U.S. allies.

BREAKING NEWS: 22 Former international cricket captains have once again written a letter to Pakistan PM over the treatment for Imran Khan. They first wrote a similar letter in February and this one comes after Pak allegedly didn’t completely comply with SC directions.
They have laid down 3 demands:
1. That the medical board directed by the Supreme Court — including Mr Khan's own doctors — be permitted to complete a full and independent assessment of his health, particularly the reported loss of vision in his right eye.
2. That the weekly family visits reinstated by the Court be honoured without interruption or administrative delay.
3. That whatever the outcome of that medical assessment, the treatment recommended by it be provided without delay.
Three Indians - Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar are among the 22 former captains.

They are running the Morsi playbook step by step.
Mohamed Morsi wasn’t just lost in a courtroom—he was slowly killed through years of deliberate medical neglect, denied access to independent doctors, and isolated behind state secrecy until his body gave out.
In an interview, Salman Akram Raja @salmanAraja lays out the exact same trajectory: court orders ignored, independent medical boards blocked, and critical symptoms like blood clot and severe blood pressure spikes swept under the rug.
It's a calculated strategy. We must demand transparent, immediate medical care now.

#PAKWatch🇵🇰: Today, THOUSANDS took to the streets of Hangu to demand an END to the ILLEGAL 3-YEAR INCARCERATION OF IMRAN KHAN IN ADIALA JAIL.
PAK = MILITARY RUNS THE SHOW = FREE CAPTAIN PAKISTAN.
Eight members of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) have strongly condemned the non-transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital, calling for stern action against those disobeying the Supreme Court's orders.
They stated: 'The Supreme Court's directives were explicit, yet the government has blatantly violated them. Failing to execute court orders constitutes a direct assault on judicial independence and authority.
Contemnors must be dealt with severely.
