@Sharkyl@Spotify They should go back to having no data on their listeners & having their music totally pirated. They should go back to the major record labels that treated them swimmingly in the past. They should go back to printing & handing out plastic CDs. They should go back to radio payola.
@future_of_music@matthewstoller Has there ever been a time in the music industry where one platform wasn’t more popular than others? Even if you broke up all the DSPs do you not think one company would be preferred by many people? Do you really think 20 different DSPs would even survive?
@libmanbroom @ddayen Yes, we should build 2x overcapacity so that the next time there’s a once in a century worldwide pandemic we don’t suffer waiting extra time for cheap consumables. You my friend have a future in public office!
@socialistboomer @FimmSara What about allowing rich people to borrow limitless funds for free bc of low interest rates? Or what about the fed subsidizing liquidity which seems to disproportionately benefit asset holders? Can we try that or no?
@LeShann@profgalloway In a few decades tuition will be a mortgage on a luxury home. This doesn’t address the root issue which is out of control pricing. The feds need to stop guaranteeing loans for spiraling tuition. There needs to be pressure to control prices.
@AndyfromTucson@mattyglesias A “full employment” economy with the lowest labor force participation rate in almost half a century. You know the numbers are funny when unemployment looks better when more people drop out
@dylanhenrich@nycsouthpaw The Fed exists because of Congress. The mandate for inflation and stable employment was specified by Congress. How do you not think Congress can regulate the Fed?
@RichardLevine6@thisisbenphelps@nycsouthpaw The Fed chairman is selected by the president. Clearly it’s not an independent agency. Biden is literally deciding on the next chair as we speak.
@bryanwark @nathaliejacoby1 You’re saying that because you’re an athiest. The military spend more than 10x that amount and drones people but for some reason you choose to go after churches.
@ask_ourself @stalbs@Austen It’s all politics, unions contributed heavily to his campaign and this is their reward. Guess quid pro quo is more important than getting folks into as many EVs as possible 🤷🏿♂️
@vox_man@TesseractUnfold@AP How can you call it an independent agency if the president is instructing them how to operate? So if 45 had instructed OSHA to implement his will it would have been a okay?
