#podcast episode #242 - Martin Webb (@64PixelDreams) about #OutRun on the #C64
He is one of those 'From Bedrooms To Billions' UK game dev pioneers who started out with the age of 13 to code games on the C64. In this episode, he points out the challenges of converting the 1986 arcade hit 'Out Run' together with his father as a graphic artist, working for US Gold, travelling to the US to make the NTSC fixed version for Mindscape, working with Activision, etc. Aside from the challenges to transport the feel of a powerful arcade game to an underpowered 8-bit machine, making the nearly impossible possible, learning new tricks, learning about NTSC fixing for the first time, why the NTSC version is much more polished than its rushed PAL release, and so much more! Tune in to celebrate its 30th's Anniversary!
