@JulienMouchnino@dvaughan32@HDustin_ Yes. Essentially the value is assigned by the first expression that evaluates to TRUE. So interval notation is not necessary.
@ramatheson71@AZHouseDems Maybe there is some mistake? I can't find a SB1412 that is related to this. But HB2112 has the short title shown: "classroom instruction, race, ethnicity". Not sure why they're using the SB hashtag.
@grrrck@TiffanyTimbers I do the same when writing command line executable R scripts. I pretty much pythonify R scripts so they can be integrated into larger pipelines.
@KellyBodwin@camjpatrick Can we agree that it is a crime to have "." in a variable name in R though? It drives me crazy that even many of the R guides use this syntax.
@antoine_fabri Rscripts + argparse for reusable, documented programs. But these scripts definitely contain functions. So maybe I am missing the dichotomy?
Thanks again @hurwitzlab, @APonsero@ElishaMariePhD, @mb0mhoff and Dr. Ed DeLong, our paper on ontologies enabling FAIR use of marine metagenomic datasets in CI Systems is out. See

Excited to see our paper on cyanolichen viruses out in @ISMEComms. https://t.co/2LPW8tsFqm We found that viruses encode novel host metabolic genes that provide clues to microbial interactions in lichen symbiosis. Led by @APonsero with @hurwitzlab, @nicolasmagain, Lutzoni lab
@Randy_Au@robinson_es If you perform orthogonal (TLS, Deming) regression, but force an intercept, will the line simply be defined by the intercept and the centroid? Intuition tells me this, but I can't find a proof or statement of this online! Pointer to resource appreciated
@kat__chia @R4DScommunity It is never too early to learn git. I think everyone's first program, whatever the language, should be pushed to GitHub. Also, if you make a repo for the "club" you can have them fork and add you as upstream, then they can pull directly updates you make.
I repeat- I haven’t been this excited about a discovery since CRISPR. We found something enigmatic that, like CRISPR, is associated with microbial genomes. We have named these unique entities #BORGs

@aosmith16 Seems like some good bullets. I am wodering what some of the details of the points would be. Like, "do your research" probably also implies checking current and closed issues first. In the be kind/respectful, any specifics? Like always say thanks for developing first?
