I remember the first time I cooked beans in Haiti. It was 2010, right after the earthquake. I thought I knew what I was doing…Spanish-style, the way I always had.

The women cooking in the camp stopped me. They showed me their way. Slow-cooked…mashed into a purée…served over rice.

In that moment, I learned what it really means to help after a disaster. You don't come with your own recipes. You listen. You follow. You learn.

16 years later, that lesson is still the foundation of everything @wckitchen does in Haiti. Our local teams and @HASHaiti partners are cooking that same recipe - the right recipe - for families displaced by violence. And this past year, comforting food like those beans, that purée, that bowl of rice have added up to 10 million meals.

BREAKING: This morning I, Anthony Andrews, received a “demand” letter from the lawyers of the President and First Lady via FedEx. I guess it is a cease and desist of sorts. It is 6 pages long and references numerous social media posts relating to Donald Trump and separately Melania. The scale of what the posts cover would allow for discovery to be sensational. The broad terms mentioned regarding my posts about Donald Trump would allow, if litigated, the world to see the extent to which the president is willing to go to evade accountability.
The posts referencing Melania have also been similarly referenced over the years by thousands of people publicly. As a messenger, I posted what was shared with me by a first person witness.
I have them on their toes and am obviously very much over the target.
More details to come. If they’re coming after me, they will eventually come after everyone.

@Mombity @GiaJudge The concrete probably absorbed it unevenly due to slight density variations with each pouring during the reflecting pool's construction. Also daily variations in humidity, sunlight, and paint content can mess with it. I know that, and I'm just a "frumpy old homemaker".

@Lfunguscal @GattiJanic40498 Same in AZ...pets and kids. It doesn't take an extremely hot day either. A cracked-open window doesn't help much. Car temperatures can rise quickly, and in a matter of minutes, become a tragedy.
