@benleemusic Earlier this year, Brisbane band Radium Dolls, had one member also not permitted entry back into the USA after touring the US, then going to Canada and then trying to get back into the US to finish their North American tour.
One thing that really bugs me about modern gaming is the constant push toward mandatory logins and "always-online" requirements - even for single-player games.
In the past, buying a game was simple: you handed over your money and got the game. No account required.
Now, even to purchase or download a single-player game, you're forced to create an account. They want your name, location, email, and credit card details.
Then, after downloading and installing it, you still have to log in and be online just to play. Why?
It's about constant tracking and analysis of every step you take - to optimize monetization, squeeze every last bit of value out of you, and collect data they can use for cross-selling, profiling, or whatever else they come up with.
I understand requiring a login/online for multiplayer games. But why for single-player games? It's completely insane but has slowly been turned into "normality".
In US defence & intel circles Jasmine El-Gamal is regarded as one of the best analysts. She has 25 yrs experience in nat security including advising the Pentagon on Middle East. We included her in our 4 Corners “The Big War.” Her analysis here is interesting re regional impacts.
So lemme get this straight... the "imminent threat" was that Israel was about to attack Iran and the US feared they'd be targetted in Iran's retalliation... so they attacked first... and were targetted in Iran's retalliation.
I asked Defence where Major General King now works having recently left his job in the Department overseeing billions in contracts for companies like Lockheed Martin... can you guess where he went too?
Australia now has some of the democratic world's most draconian anti-protest laws. Today a man was arrested as an "agitator" simply for peacefully yelling "shame" in the direction of the visiting Israeli President, on the basis it may have "incited fear" https://t.co/jZJ59cRU02
When we talk about authoritarianism, it’s not just Donald Trump.
Musk owns X
Bezos owns Twitch
Zuckerberg owns Instagram and Facebook
Larry Ellison controls TikTok
Billionaires increasingly control what we see, hear and read.
@johnnyedwardfap In the last 27 years, two-thirds of the party's elected members have defected after election. Do you deny that happened, or do you think this is something that should be politely ignored. That is a fact, not an opinion.
Fascinating that a party which has set records for the number of its elected members that have defected, should now be recruiting candidates from amongst defectors from other parties.
