It feels like the darkest hour since February for Ukraine - from talking to my family and friends on the ground. Heavy losses, lack of equipment, slow down in private donations, psychological exhaustion. If you know someone in UA, now is a good time to reach out and offer help.
Now Russia strikes Transcarpathia for the fist time since war began. 🇷🇺 wants to cover whole 🇺🇦 territory with air strikes so that Ukrainians flee. Would not it be cheaper if USA & Europe provided us with air defense equipment than to deal with those numbers of displaced people?
But Ukraine already received heavy weapons, why there are still Russian bombs raining across the country? The answer is simple - we are asking for NATO air defense systems and modern fighter jets since first days of war, but no political will yet to deliver this to UA
Even after Bucha and Mariupol, some people get genuinely surprised when they learn that Ukrainians don’t want to talk to Russians or show any signs of brotherhood.
The “brotherly nations” myth is too damn persistent. So let’s talk about these attempts to befriend 🇺🇦 and 🇷🇺.

On this day in 1986, Soviet lies led to Chornobyl disaster, the worst nuclear catastrophe in history. Today Russia, the successor of Soviet lies and brutality, threatens the entire world again. #ArmUkraineNow and help us defeat the Empire of Lies.
Most Ukrainian refugees continue on to other places — typically, those that offer more economic opportunities or have people fluent in Ukrainian or Russian.

Romanian authorities told @thisisinsider that the country is facing an influx of Ukrainian children.
Dr. Raed Arafat, who leads Romania’s version of the US Federal Emergency Management Agency, said there could be a “very large” humanitarian disaster. ⬇️

Dr. Arafat, who is responsible for preparing all sorts of disasters, said he still never expected to be helping lead the response to war.
But the most shocking thing about it is all the orphans and other kids entering Romania without a parent, he said.

2) Russians accuse Ukrainian Armed Forces in committing crimes. In occupied areas, 🇺🇦 media are cut off, it is replaced with 🇷🇺 propaganda. 🇷🇺 wear 🇺🇦 uniform while shooting. Ppl don’t have mobile connection to talk to those from 🇺🇦 controlled area and get alternative info. /2
About 500 000 of Ukrainians were deported to Russia for only 2 months. Some of them are on their way to labour camps like Gulag. Russians want to use them to build new cities in Siberia. Their passports taken away. Some of people managed to escape to the 3rd countries. /1

Mariupol had lived in peace before Russia invaded, ruined 95% of the city by heavy bombardment, and killed thousands of people. Ukrainian forces still hold on. Wounded and dead need evacuation. So are thousands of civilians, including kids and elderly. People lack food and water.
"Yes, I called it genocide because it's become clearer and clearer that Putin is just trying to wipe out the idea of even being Ukrainian," President Biden tells reporters, saying more evidence has emerged and calling it "a horrible thing that the Russians have done in Ukraine."
