Every day I drive 20 minutes past cow fields and RV parks to work at a "rural" county hospital.
@AlexBerenson just exposed that NY Presbyterian - in Manhattan’s Upper East Side - classifies itself as "rural" too, scamming Medicare for larger reimbursements.
This is a travesty. Rural status keeps small-town hospitals alive: fewest resources, sickest patients, and massive uncompensated costs from illegals (20-40% of patients on any given day).
Margins are razor-thin, exec pay modest (mostly low six figures, some higher).
Meanwhile, NY Presby rakes in $11B+ revenue, pays its CEO $22M, and funds a massive complex of DEI programs, NGOs, and a gender clinic for kids.
The issue is not the massive profit margin itself but that big city giants are scamming a program that is essential for the rural hospitals that actually need it.
Hopefully someone in DC can do something about it but I won't hold my breath.
Billionaires owe you nothing.
Your failure is your fault, not that of successful people.
You should be ashamed that you suck and work hard to improve.
I don’t care about your excuses.
You deserve only what you earn.
Stop crying like a toddler because life is hard.
Warren Buffett: "The long term, in my view, is very easy to predict in a general way. But I don't think there's any way to predict what the stock market will do ten minutes from now, ten days from now, or ten months from now."
Day 792 of still being speechless that a significant portion of the population believes being a billionaire means someone has a billion dollars in their checking account.
