I started working at @UNICEF because of our mission. But, funding cuts are threatening our ability to reach millions of children & putting their lives at risk.
When children’s futures are at stake, who is going to stand up for them? I AM. WE ARE. And YOU can too! #ForEveryChild
It was not until 1866 that Jews were able to settle around🇨🇭
The Jews & Christians of Lengnau/Endingen were only able to live under one roof if they had separate doors. The double entrances still exist today-the older Jewish doors still have the mezuzah indentation (2/2)
Yesterday, I visited the🇨🇭towns of Lengnau & Endingen, 2 important communities in the history of the Jewish people.
After centuries of persecution, conversion, & expulsion, in 1776, Jews were allowed to return & settle in just these small towns…only. (1/2)
I couldn’t be more proud of this achievement of the campaigns team at #UNHCR@Refugees and what it means for people forced to flee.
With unwavering dedication, creativity, and unity our campaigns team has achieved this remarkable milestone... ONE MILLION (and counting)
An important message from the Deputy Director of @unicef’s Office of Emergency Programmes, @HazelDeWet, to #AIDEx2023 attendees- “a forgotten crisis means forgotten children.” #ForEveryChild

UNICEF calls for an immediate humanitarian pause and safe access to scale and sustain lifesaving services for children in the #GazaStrip.
Every minute counts, #ForEveryChild
UNICEF strongly condemns the strike on the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza with hundreds of civilians reported killed & injured.
We call for the protection of all civilians, including children & the infrastructure they rely on. We need an immediate ceasefire & humanitarian access.
It's been a week since the killing and abduction of Israeli children.
Abduction of children is a grave violation of their rights.
UNICEF is deeply concerned for their wellbeing.
We reiterate our call for their immediate and safe release and return to their loved ones.
Twenty-five years ago today, Matthew Shepard lost his life to a brutal act of anti-gay hate and violence simply for being himself.
His murder shook the conscience of the American people. And his courageous parents, Judy and Dennis Shepard, turned Matthew’s memory into a movement.
As Vice President, I had the honor of helping to enact the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which extended federal hate crimes laws to cover sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability. This legislation is a lasting tribute to Matthew and a testament to the relentless advocacy of Judy and Dennis.
But our work will not be finished until we end the hate and violence that too many LGBTQI+ Americans continue to face.
May God bless Matthew Shepard and all who remember him today.
An important reminder in the office today. In this war, as in all wars, it is children who suffer first and suffer most. We must protect them at all costs. #ForEveryChild, a brighter and safer future. 🌎
The impacts of conflict and climate change often leave girls in vulnerable situations.
This is how UNICEF is protecting their rights and safety in emergencies.

All Americans should be horrified and outraged by the brazen terrorist attacks on Israel and the slaughter of innocent civilians. We grieve for those who died, pray for the safe return of those who’ve been held hostage, and stand squarely alongside our ally, Israel, as it dismantles Hamas. As we support Israel’s right to defend itself against terror, we must keep striving for a just and lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
“I condemn in the strongest terms this morning’s attack by Hamas against Israeli towns.
I urge all diplomatic efforts to avoid a wider conflagration.”
– @antonioguterres expresses deep concern for civilians.

Yom Kippur is a day of reflection and atonement. Like last year, I decided to mix it up from the usual fasting, and spend the day in the mountains- thinking back at an amazing year and looking forward.
Young people are our future, but they are also our present.
When we give them the support they need, we help them become the people they want to be, and they help us build a more peaceful, stable world.
Thank you, @UNICEF, for being heroic partners in this effort.

Coco Gauff says she believes in climate change & can’t be mad at the protesters:
“I believe in climate change. I don’t know exactly what they were protesting.. I 100% believe there are things we could do better. Would I prefer it not happening in my match? 100%. It is what it is.. moments like this are history defining moments. I wasn’t pissed at the protesters. I always speak about preaching what you believe in. It was done in a peaceful way. I can’t get too mad at it.. if that’s what they felt they needed to do to get their voices heard I can’t really get upset at it.” ❤️
