@eeisdorferNU@MyraA_Biochar@NU_ChemE@alexC_Biochar@RachelD_Biochar Based on our research, we found that the Aspen simulation was sufficient to obtain the data we needed for completing the project. The reactor data was found in literature and the Aspen simulation was used for energy and costs.
@emendoza_CHME@MyraA_Biochar@NU_ChemE@alexC_Biochar@RachelD_Biochar There are other competitors producing biochar but not at the same production level. The cotton waste is currently used for low-value products such as animal feed. Our plan would be environmentally friendly and improve the value of the waste from cotton farms and gins.
@ELAIAENTERPRIS1 Nice project and poster! For your experiment, was the percent of yeast collected by the filters measured as a mass balance? Also do you expect to have to replace the filters often for full-scale production?
