We are working hard in York and North Yorkshire to create a safe environment for all, a specific area we are focusing on is to stop violence against women and girls.

Since the pandemic began, 45 per cent of women reported that they or a woman they know has experienced a form of VAWG. Seven in 10 women said they think that verbal or physical abuse by a partner has become more common.

If you have been affected by any form of violence or abuse, including non-recent abuse, FREE confidential help is available for everyone, regardless of gender and whether or not they have reported this to the police.

@lewis_goodall In my days as a councillor all new developments were objected to as ‘urban sprawl’ by neighbours. They never thought that a few years ago they were the urban sprawl to the locals then.
