@ticinasky Think of what kind of support you need and what helps you move forward. Funding helps if you can get it. A compassionate and sympathetic supervisor can be more valuable in patchy journeys. Check if they promote others. Check if the university has good support and structures.
@ticinasky Choose supervisor looking at staff pages at university of choice OR see where the chosen expert scholar has affiliation. Top scholar is not always better if they don't have the time to supervise. A nurturing environment+ financial support might be better depending on student
