@messele@rorysutherland Always reverse park except where boot space clearance is needed except for say shopping, mobility scooter or wheelchair to be loaded. Safer when exiting your parking space into traffic.etc.
@MichielWorkwize I turned up to a contract position on day one and the same position. I set up a temporary Gmail account for non sensitive stuff. Brought in my own laptop so that I could at least do basic research. I spent my first few days , setting up to meet all my stakeholders etc.
@KarlTurnerMP The profit margin is 2-3%. Nationalised companies don’t have the same incentive to keep costs down. So they will run at a loss. What profit margin did you think they were working to?
@TheY0ungLad Either take the money and live the rest of your life knowing what kind of person you really are. Or be honest and live the rest of your life knowing what kind of person you are. If the former then there are professions for you to get paid but lose your self respect and dignity.
@rorysutherland I was a client and I would insist on a test or a pilot. I separated out 10k customers from the base just to be able to do a quick sanity check. When SMS marketing came as long and results came back in minutes it changed how we did things eg campaign ROI was redundant etc.
@spectator I would argue that Tony Blair. He was the first to write something down and publish. The rest are just responses with none of the thinking. Just a political knee jerk, shallow, ill thought out and full of buzzwords that ordinary voters don’t gives a monkeys about. Neoliberalism?
@julianHjessop Fundamental problem is that any tax is a market distortion. These usually come with unforeseen consequences. In this case the people who impose the tax do not have skin in the game. Mayors will impose the tax unless they own a hotel or an air
BnB as well.
@TerribleMaps It’s a geographical feature of an island with a lake in it. The shape suggests manmade/canal? Judging by the location it is the ancient Carthaginian island of a thousands donkeys. Worshipped by the Assyrians.
@Jim_Kozlinski@Rothmus I assume your point is that goods and services that are free at the point of use or have subsidies mean that this distortion leads to higher prices(the top 5/6 on the chart) but those goods that do not have lower prices.
