The kurds have been known as thieves for as long as the term ‘kwrt’ was invented.
Here are a few sources;
- Yaqut al-Hamawi’s Mu’jam al-Buldan (early 13th century, Arabic geographical dictionary)
On the Kurds of the Shahrazur (Şarezûr) region: “the Kurds remain in the surrounding mountains terrorizing the travellers, stealing, looting, intimidations, attacks and arrests by no means stop them, because it is inherent to the nature of the Kurds.”
- Later Ottoman and European traveler accounts (e.g., 17th–19th centuries) regularly echo this for kurdish tribes involved in raids on caravans or villages, such as Venetian merchants describing Kurdish areas as inhabited by “thieves, bandits, and highway robbers.”
- Georgian, the word for “thief” (kurdi) has been folk-etymologically linked to “Kurd,” reflecting historical truths of raiding, thievery, banditry, rape, pillaging etc…
All you had to do was ask people from the region Mr. President we would of warned you.

SECRETARY RUBIO on IRAN: I don't know of any country in the world where there's a bigger difference between the people and the people who run the country.

My campaign continues until she is arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned.
Stay tuned. Much more is coming. Free Iran!
