@andyserling I would upgrade all the chasers because they clearly were not up to the task of that pace.

Had the surface been less kind to main speeds, THEN I might be inclined to upgrade Knightsbridge more in a way like TFUSA does. But to me, he's more of a 104-105 horse without a soft trip

@andyserling IMHO that track was tilted towards speed. He kept going. The other speeds collapsed. What that proved is that he's of much higher quality than Full Serrano and the speeds that tried to chase them. We already knew that. I would not upgrade his 104 much if at all on that track.

I think he was focusing on the overall budget and the number of tests.

The overall budget is rising faster than tests which I assume he thinks is the primary function.

@andyserling Grand Job's Beyer was lowered 7 points. I have no idea why other than 107 would also make a couple behind her look too fast. But there's no obvious reason to break it out in the middle of the card and then go back to the same speed as earlier for the Pegasus.

@andyserling 104 Beyer for the Pegasus, but it was the only 2 turn race and looks too slow to me. Skip's peak Beyer was 107, but even that looks a bit low when you look at the overall field's prior Beyers and visually how well top 2 ran. Anything from 107-110 makes more sense.

@andyserling It wasn't that bad of a race. White Abbarrio is a legitmate G1 horses at GP and it was well back to 3rd to a horse that has been competitive in weaker G1s in CA on his best day. Skippy got a good pace setup and fired his "AAA" race.

It takes 6-8 works to get a horse ready off a layoff if he’s been galloping.

That means a race in March and one in April is probably the target unless there are unannounced issues.

@andyserling @BreedersCup @RacingPost You could also just look at the @RacingPost and @Timeform ratings for all the shippers. They will reflect the horse's performance relative to the quality of the opposition and see if the ratings are above or below the standards for that Grade.

@TheBigAStabile I agreed with Andy pre race, but KM is explaining why he chose to stretch him despite PPs that seemed to scream that he wanted to sprint on dirt. Then he won a Grade 1 doing it. Sometimes PPs and the profiles that are typical of them do not match what's best. Mistake, move on.

A few top trainers can hold them together, but more often than not it's too much too soon and they decline or have issues.
