Best career advice that I can give: Don't ever attach yourself to a person, a place, a company, an organization or a project. Attach yourself to a mission, a calling, a purpose ONLY. That's how you keep your power & your peace. It's worked pretty well for me thus far.
Few publishing techniques for PhD students: 1. The number of manuscript rejections do not show up on a CV, but accepted ones do 2. Work on multiple writing projects simultaneously 3. Ask faculty members are they working on anything you can contribute to 4. Your voice has value
Dear Student: if a professor isn’t enthusiastic about writing you a letter of recommendation, you might want to consider finding another letter writer.
