Why does Aamir Khan repeatedly marry Hindu women, divorce them, and retain the children?

1/ My three-volume history places the Indian subcontinent at the centre of world civilisation. On the question of continuity, it is the most impressive case on earth, and the one Western scholarship has most consistently underestimated.

2/ At Bhimbetka's 30,000-year-old paintings, a dancing deity with bangles and trident immediately recalls the dancing Shiva of today, as Michael Wood observed, and as I cite in my own work. A 14,000-year-old yoni stone near Allahabad was recognised on sight by local villagers. This demonstrates continuity. Therefore the seal is a middle chapter in the whole story.

3/ The argument that Indian sacred symbols require a Elamite or steppe source was constructed in the 19th century by Max Muller, who never visited India. He later called his 1,500 BC date for the Rig Veda 'merely hypothetical.' Subsequent historians copied the original date and ignored the retraction. Voltaire said 'everything has come to us from the banks of the Ganges.' He was wrong about most things but right about this.

A lot of politicians have mastered the art of false victimhood — a tactic they seem to have learnt from Narendra Modi.

Take Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for instance. He comes from a reasonably comfortable socio-economic background, yet he claims, “If not for the Constitution of India, I would have remained a farm labourer. I would never have been educated, become an MLA, a Minister, or Chief Minister.”

Many leaders like him retrospectively attribute their entire political success to the Constitution of India. But history tells a very different story.

Siddaramaiah belongs to the Kuruba (Yadava) caste of the Shudra varna — the same caste as Harihara and Bukka, the founders of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire. Which Constitution made them kings? In their time, the only “Constitution” in force was Manusmriti. Yet it was the Sringeri Sankaracharya, Sri Vidyaranya Swami — a Brahmana — who guided, mentored, inspired, and anointed the two Kuruba brothers as kings.

Go back even further. Chandragupta Maurya, founder of the Maurya dynasty, is widely believed to have belonged to the Shudra varna. Who made him emperor? It was Chanakya — again, a Brahmana — who mentored, trained, and installed him on the throne. Once more, the only “Constitution” in force was Manusmriti.

If Manusmriti truly ordained caste discrimination and barred Shudras from rising to power, how did Brahmana scholars and saints repeatedly crown them as kings and emperors? In fact, there are thousands of big, small and local examples throughout history of people from any varna or caste rising to power and prominence under the Manusmriti framework.

The hard modern reality is this: in the name of electoral democracy, the anti-India Constitution of India may have created a handful of new political lords and robber barons, but it has left nearly 80% of Indians as paupers — trapped in substandard education, chronic unemployment, and humiliating dependence on government freebies, including free food grains. All they are left to do is monetise their votes for a pittance to elect the very same robber barons.

The real lesson is simple. If a person has talent, capability, and a bit of luck, he will rise to great heights — whether the system is Manusmriti or the Constitution of India. No document can stop a capable person, and no document can create success where there is none.

Rammohun Roy the so called Sati reformer, hated the fact that his widowed mother Tarini Devi was a devout Hindu who contributed money for "idol worship" in Pujas. When he refused to pay his share from the family's land for contributions to Hindu ceremonies, his mother filed a case through his nephew, which Rammohun easily won due to his links with the British administrators. After winning the case against his mother, Rammohun took over all the property and kicked her out on the streets. His mother had to seek refuge in the temple of Jagannath Puri and died there in wretched conditions in 1822. When Roy's sister in law, Durga Devi also filed a case to recover back some money from family properties - Rammohun again ensured that his influence helped him win the case. He then forced his widowed sister-in-law out on the streets.

This is the man who is touted as the savior of widows - but himself ensured that the two widows in his own family were thrown out on the streets and forced to live in wretched poverty after taking over all their property - all in the name of his hatred against "idol worship".

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya lay terminally ill outside the sacred geography of Kashi.

Malaviyaji’s answer sounded less like a reply and more like a civilizational oath.
He said he was intentionally avoiding death in Kashi.

Because he did not want liberation yet.
His dream for Bharat remained unfinished.

He had envisioned Banaras Hindu University as a grand Hindu gurukul rooted in ancient wisdom yet relevant to the modern age. But he felt the early generations emerging from it had already drifted too deeply into the Macaulayan mould.

He wanted another birth.
Another chance.
Another lifetime to rebuild, rectify and continue the work.

Think about the scale of that conviction.
While countless seekers prayed for release from the cycle of rebirth, Malaviyaji prayed to return again for Bharat.

For unfinished duty.

Some men leave behind institutions.
Some leave behind ideas.

And a rare few leave behind unfinished destinies.

Then someone from the bride’s side noticed this and said,
