As bold and resilient as ever, Ethiopia has once again surprised the world with its massive electoral participation. Over 54 million Ethiopians turned out to cast their votes peacefully, responsibly and decisively in the historic 2026 Grand National Elections.

This stands as a great achievement for our country and a clear message to those who doubted Ethiopia’s unity, strength and democratic progress.

Without any doubt, this remarkable turnout reflects strong civic commitment, national unity and growing democratic maturity. Across the country, citizens exercised their constitutional right in an atmosphere marked by peace, order and active public participation.

ኬንያ በመቶ ሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ከተለያዩ ብሄር፣ ቋንቋ እና ሃይማኖት የተገኙ አገር ወዳድ እና እንቁ ኢትዮጵያውያን እና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን በአንድነት እና በመተሳሰብ የሚኖሩባት አገር መሆኗ ይታወቃል። የእነዚህን የቁርጥ ቀን የአገር ልጆች አንድነት እና አብሮነትን በላቀ ሁኔታ ለማጠናከርና በአገራቸው ማህበራዊ እና ኢኮኖሚያዊ እንቅስቃሴ የበለጠ ተሳታፊ እንዲሆኑ ለማድረግ በሚሲዮናችን የኢትዮጵያውያንና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን ጥላ ማህበር ዳግም መቋቋሙ ይታወሳል። ይህን አዲስ አደረጃጀት በማስመልከት በማህበሩ መስራቾች የተሰጠ ገለጻ፣

Kenya is known as a country where hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians—patriotic and distinguished individuals from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds—live together in unity and solidarity. It is worth noting that the umbrella association of Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian descent has been relaunched at our mission to further strengthen this unity and solidarity, and to enable them to participate more actively in the socio-economic developments of their country. Below is a statement issued by the founders of the association regarding this new association:

This is a wonderful example of how organized diaspora efforts can creat positive impact: helping each other thrive in the host country while contributing meaningfully to #Ethiopia’s development.

Today, we established four community development associations at the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Nairobi. These are the Oromia Development Association in Kenya, the Wolaita Development Association in Kenya, the Ethiopian Somali Development Association in Kenya, and the Gambella Development Association in Kenya.

The founding meetings of these four associations concluded with discussions, the approval of their bylaws, and the election of their respective executive boards.

On the same occasion, the Ethiopian and Ethiopian origin community Association in Kenya was officially relaunched. The ceremony was attended by members of the Ethiopian diaspora community and invited guests.

There is no greater honor and privilege than being led by a heroic leader. In an extraordinary demonstration of courage and unwavering commitment to brotherly relations, our leader, Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli, has once again surprised the world by making a state visit to the United Arab Emirates, even at a time when missiles and drones are falling from the sky in the country.
This true son of Ethiopia has demonstrated the genuine heart, courage, and resilience of the Ethiopian people. Just as he once surprised the world by joining the front lines—wearing a military ranger uniform to stand with his country’s defense forces—he has once again demonstrated remarkable fearless leadership by traveling to a region facing security challenges to stand with our brothers and sisters in the United Arab Emirates.
From the very day he assumed the responsibility of leading our country, we Ethiopians have watched with pride as he guided the nation with dignity and determination. His leadership has enabled us to hold our heads high with confidence and national pride.
Your Excellency, Prime Minister, your courageous leadership inspires Ethiopians everywhere to live with pride and stand tall. Today’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, which has amazed the world, has further elevated the stature and respect of Ethiopia and its people.
As true Ethiopians, we are proud and grateful to be led by such a heroic leader. At this time, many of us are observing fasting Orthodox Christians (ዐብይ ጾም)and Ramadan, we need to pray for the good health, strength and long life of our leader, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. May God continue to guide and protect him.

130th Commemoration of the Victory of Adwa Celebrated with Great Honor and Pride in Nairobi

We proudly commemorated the historic 130th Victory of Adwa under the motto, “Glorious Past, Radiant Future,” in a truly remarkable and dignified ceremony. The magnificent celebration was graced by the Guest of Honor, Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, whose presence underscored the deep and enduring friendship between Ethiopia and Kenya.

The commemoration was attended by a distinguished gathering of Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to Nairobi, senior Kenyan government officials, high-ranking military leaders, Defence Attachés, and members of the Ethiopian diplomatic community. We were also honored by the presence of senior United Nations leadership, including Ms. Zeinab Bangura, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi; Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat; and Ms. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP.

The vibrant participation of the Ethiopian Diaspora added great pride and meaning to the occasion, reflecting their unwavering connection to Ethiopia’s glorious heritage.

In my remarks, I reiterated that the history of the Victory of Adwa, which we celebrate today, did not begin on a battlefield; it began with the fire of patriotism ignited within the homes of Ethiopians. Furthermore, I stated that Ethiopia is a country kneaded with the blood of her children, not one drawn on a map with a colonial pencil. These reflections reaffirm the profound sacrifices, unity, and unwavering determination that have preserved Ethiopia’s sovereignty and dignity.

On other hand, Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, in his remarks, congratulated the people of Ethiopia on their historic victory in safeguarding their sovereignty and defeating colonial aggression. He emphasized that the Victory of Adwa remains a powerful symbol of freedom, dignity, and resilience, and continues to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for African people and oppressed nations across the world. He also commended Ethiopia’s leadership role as a strong voice for Africa and its continued contribution as host to key continental and international institutions. Furthermore, he praised the all-weather strategic partnership between Ethiopia and Kenya.

The Victory of Adwa stands forever as a testament to unity, courage, and the unbreakable spirit of Ethiopia.

We proudly commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force, a symbol of national pride and excellence in safeguarding Ethiopia’s sovereignty and skies.
Under the visionary leadership of H. E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the Ethiopian Air Force has undergone a remarkable transformation. Through comprehensive reorganization, modernization, and strategic investment, it has emerged as one of the most eminent, powerful, and modern air forces in world.

የአገራችን ሉዓላዊነትንና ሰማይን በመጠበቅ የብሔራዊ ኩራት እና ልህቀት ምልክት ሆኖ የዘለቀውን የኢትዮጵያ አየር ኃይል 90ኛ ዓመት ክብረ በዓል ስናከብር ከፍተኛ ኩራት እና ደስታ ይሰማናል።
