UPDATE | Germany is preparing a coordinated response with EU and NATO partners to the suspected drone attack at Leipzig/Halle airport earlier this month.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz says Berlin is finalizing its response and will announce its conclusions soon. The August 4 incident involved an explosives-carrying drone found near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft at the airport.

German media report that Berlin is preparing to attribute the incident to Russia and could respond with sanctions, but Merz has not publicly confirmed that attribution.

❌ 52.5% voted against resuming negotiations
✅ 47.5% voted in favour

🇪🇺 What does this mean?
Iceland’s EU accession talks, suspended since 2013, will remain frozen. Reykjavík voted clearly in favour of restarting negotiations, while rural constituencies strongly backed the “No” side.

Iceland will remain closely integrated with the EU through the European Economic Area and Schengen.

🔸Selon Daily News Hungary, un Cessna 172 volé à l’aéroport de Kalocsa s’est dirigé vers la centrale nucléaire de Paks, entraînant le décollage de deux chasseurs JAS 39 Gripen de l’armée hongroise après sa détection par radar.

L’appareil a finalement effectué un atterrissage d’urgence près de Gerjen, où il a été retrouvé endommagé. Les Gripen sont restés en surveillance jusqu’à l’arrivée des secours.

Aucun blessé n’a été signalé. La police a ouvert une enquête sur le vol de l’avion et les circonstances de cet incident.
