Everyone should be free to live as their authentic selves without fear of discrimination or exclusion. This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and continue the work of building a Wisconsin where everyone belongs.
Happy Pride Month!
Happy Wisconsin Founding Day!
For 178 years, Wisconsin has been shaped by people who believe in community, opportunity, and the freedom to build a better future. Those values continue to guide the work we do to create a stronger, more equitable Wisconsin for all.
From our prairies to our waterways, Wisconsin’s environment deserves our continued investment. Grateful for leaders like @SenHesselbein who continue advocating for conservation efforts that protect the natural beauty and resources that make our state special.
Today I'm reminded of my visit to Westport Prairie with @RepJoers this time last year to learn more about restoration efforts at the historic Empire Prairie. Wisconsin’s natural beauty is worth protecting, and we must continue investing in conservation efforts across our state.
Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. May we take time to remember their sacrifice, reflect on the freedoms they protected, and support the veterans and families who carry their legacy forward.
By sharing stories, providing resources, and encouraging those who are struggling to seek help, we can reduce the stigma around mental health. We’ve made progress…and there is still a way to go.
Thanks to leaders at @emplifyghs for the informative and wide ranging discussion with Senator Dassler-Alfheim, Senator Keyeski, @SenatorWall, @sensmithwi and @SenBradPfaff at the Health Care System’s La Crosse Headquarters.
Today, we honor all the mothers and mother figures whose compassion, strength, and support help build stronger families and communities across Wisconsin. Happy Mother’s Day!
It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week. Legislative Democrats will always be champions of our public schools and the biggest fans of our public school educators. Thanks for your extraordinary dedication, passion, and commitment to students, your communities, and our State!
During Jewish American History Month, we focus on highlighting the deep and broad contributions of Jewish Americans and on educating the public in order to stem the rising tide of anti-Semitism.
Much needed renovations are underway at the @UWWhitewater. Fitting that during Teacher Appreciation Week, the improvements are being made to College of Education and Professional Studies will expand the capacity to train the next generation of educators!
It was great to see @WISenRatcliff, Rep. Brienne Brown, and Rep. Joan Fitzgerald at the groundbreaking for the renovation of @UWWhitewater’s Winther and Heide halls on April 17.
A strong healthcare system depends on nurses. Legislative Democrats have introduced bills to ensure safe staffing and support their voices in the workplace. This National Nurses Day and Week, we recognize and salute these dedicated professionals and all they do!
There is an epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Wisconsin and across the United States. These incidents are tragic, as is the fact they are often left uninvestigated and unsolved. Today’s Day of Awareness calls on us to replace silence with action.
About 98% of Wisconsin employers are small businesses which provide 1.2 million jobs. During Small Business week and month (and every month) let's support our neighbors who create these businesses and who are struggling with rising costs due to Trump's failed policies.
The 988 Mental Health crisis hotline saves lives. Unfortunately, unwisely, and unsurprisingly the Trump Administration abruptly stopped funding 988’s LGBTQ+ youth and adult services. Democrats will keep fighting for these critical services.

International Workers’ Day is a time to celebrate all workers. This May Day we also recognize the historic struggle for workers’ rights and the vital connection between the labor movement and social justice advocates.
Today’s Supreme Court decision is a win for Republicans and Donald Trump. In the words of Common Cause, it “will allow politicians to gerrymander people of color into silence.”
Voters need these protections to ensure a democracy that actually serves their needs, especially marginalized groups who have historically been discriminated against and had their voting rights stripped away - simply because of where they live or the color of their skin.
Too many workers lose their lives on the job. Today, we remember them and fight for the living for safer workplaces, strong Unions, and a return to adequate protections which have been decimated by the Trump Administration.
Legislative Democrats continue to focus on reducing costs for Wisconsinites, including making homeowners more affordable for more families. Thanks to @StateSenLaTonya her work in creating and passing a workforce home loan initiative.
Wisconsin’s Trillion Trees Pledge is alive and growing! Celebrate Arbor Day by putting the tree you plant on the map! Learn more at https://t.co/dTI6bbDDq1
More than 50 years ago, Wisconsin’s Gaylord Nelson turned concern for our environment into a national movement. Today, Senate Democrats carry that responsibility forward by protecting our natural resources and fighting for a more sustainable future.
