@VividProwess Right. All the media tells us is about the tens of thousands of civilians killed in your air raids and ground assaults. Nice try, didn't work.
@isaacrrr7 Even the Einsatzkommando didn't know the names of those they shot and buried, entire villages gone. So how do you lot know their names when they weren't recorded and no one was left who knew them? Sounds like baloney to me.
@sentantiq You misunderstand Mussolini and Pound. Everyone pre-War admired Mussolini, Churchill included. Pound wasn't wedded to a nationalism but a social philosophy that excluded Hebrews without exterminating them. Hence his choice of Rapallo rather than Berlin.
@CptAllenHistory And what about those millions of Germans who voted Hitler in and supported him all through the war? Shouldn't they have faced trial and retribution?
@histories_arch In 50 years or less Wilson's translation will be subjected to the same sort of scrutiny and also found to be appropriate to its times and place. As every source text undergoes this process so how much more won't a translation? Wilson's is my favorite...for now.
@matthewcashmore For "just the facts, M'am" you can't get better than Steven Runciman's 3v. history recommended by many, here. C. Tyerman's The World of the Crusades is modern and also nicely illustrated. A knotty subject especially for a Roman Catholic!
@Megatron_ron What does anyone expect? He was a key betrayer of Corbyn, pushed the "anti-semitism" accusations against his own party, worked for Starmer's election as Labour's chosen Ziocandidate. Now it's his turn to make the pilgrimage to Zion, cry at kibbutzes, kiss the Knesset's arse.
