@muhammadsufyian@WoodyZuill All four TT team types will benefit from understanding the Cynefin patterns for effective action in different contexts.
In a modern, cloud-connected context, any team might have to deal with Chaotic, Complex, Complicated, and Clear all in the same day! 🤓

@sonjabl @ajblain @ithoughtisaid Agreed. A related angle is the almost complete lack of awareness of sociotechnical mirroring (aka Conway's Law) in most #orgdesign / OD discourse.
Utterly baffling given how important this is.
Pretty much every issue in a software org (or any org) can be traced back to people and how they're treated. The health of sociotechnical systems link directly to organisational performance and revenue generating capabilities of that organisation.
My 2021 REA keynote on the biological roots of resilience engineering is now available. Shows how biology selects for future adaptive capacity (which seems impossible), & we do too. https://t.co/ZY3vHykw3h

@matthewpskelton@ianmiell@containersoluti I had a talk about command and control recently too. My argument is that we need a lot more balance with outside -> in sense making.

People in the domain experienced the problem, but without explicit terminology, they couldn’t express the problem to the system designers. So it’s us, the designers, who created it. It’s an act of creative modelling. The concept is invented. /40
Design for adaptability. @suksr shows you how in the workshop Fast Flow of Change
Wardley Mapping, DDD, & Team Topologies on September 28-30.
Learn how the combination of these three perspectives can help to build adaptive systems for change.

"All models are wrong but simple models are more wrong than complex ones. Simple models are more appealing, easier to teach and spread and apply. Because of that, they can bring value faster, and they can cause harm faster." @mathiasverraes#scaffolding https://t.co/ZpKAgbdAN6
@manupaisable , co-author of #TeamTopologies spoke with @InfoQ about Team Topologies during Covid-19.

Sociotechnical principle of the day:
Design is an extended social process.
This is also a new one from Clegg and this also accounts for the users of the system and their evolving needs.
