🚨 Excited to share our new study on southern elephant seals 🦭

Our long term study allows us to track ongoing biological changes in the Southern Ocean like shift in the SO phytoplankton communities 🌊🦠🌏
In this study, we disentangled the maternal effects from the environmental ones on the morphometry of southern elephant seal (SES) pups. This allows us to clarify the use of SES as a sentinel of environmental changes taking place in the Southern Ocean in light of climate change.
This work builds on my previous research on marine vertebrates, with a focus on:

🏆🎓 Very happy to see my PhD work rewarded once again . I can't wait to participate in this magnificent ceremony.
Very grateful for the interest that my elders have in my work 🙏🏻
@OceanoMonaco
To add a statistical test in #tidyplots , just do `add_test_pvalue()` 🚀
Then you can decide, whether you want to compare every group to every group, or one control group to all other groups.

🚨 Stop chasing the p-value!
Increasing your sample size will always yield a significant result.
Even for trivial differences.
🎮 I created a little interactive playground to illustrate this issue:

Always pair p-values with effect sizes!
🏆Proud to announce that I’ve received one of the prestigious thesis awards from @SorbonneFr . Thanks to my supervisors and the institutions that made this project possible: @CNRS, @MNHN_recherche, @le_CR2P, @UnivLyon1 & @LGLTPE.

Yesterday was my first day as a postdoc. 🥳 For 18 months, I'll be studying the biomechanics of the nigerien dinosaurs Lurdusaurus and Ouranosaurus with @HoussayeCnrs and @SamHybois. I can't wait to start working on the simulations!
🚨📢 Isotope paper 🧪
Honoured to have contributed to this fascinating study of a young Inca feeding habits before her sacrifice as part of the Capacocha ritual. Congrats to E. Poulallion for carrying out this excellent work 👏🏻

Les #ichthyosaures sont des prédateurs marins vivaient dans les mers du #Mésozoïque.
Contrairement aux idées reçues, ils ne sont ni des dinosaures ni les ancêtres des dauphins : ce sont des reptiles marins !
