@adamlevitan Most people don't want to grind their way to success, they want to essentially win the lottery or complain that its rigged if they don't. Its why all the clickbait starts with, try this one weird trick to <insert achievement> in 10 days!
@LRiddickESPN Some of this is on media only talking about F them picks. I have seen zero stories about Rams making more draft picks than every other team the last decade, even while rarely using a 1st. The Rams lean into the draft more than every other team, but people love a catchphrase.
@GDive@SharpFootball Yeah, I'm a hawks fan & still like their approach. They've leveraged the hype on 1st's, getting proven stars instead of picks that may or may not hit, then get as many bites at the apple as possible to hit on mid-rounders. But it gets covered up cause people love the catchphrase.
@dannyoneil I do agree that they won't do it unless their hand is forced, but wonder if they'll hit a place eventually where it is the only path to more money. It would be great in most US sports, would allow for more cities to be involved & provide great drama for the teams moving up/down.
@beholder253@dannyoneil Its the perfect sport in the US for this. The old conference structure was a hurdle, but TV money has almost completely destroyed them. Also, now that conferences change frequently and have teams on opposite sides of the country mean no real change with relegation.
@SharpFootball@LevAkabas This is Jerry's Super Bowl. All his decisions point toward winning this, not the games on the field. And he's been great at it, just funny that reporters still analyze moves like their driven by football & not business.
@Pat_Thorman@DaveKluge Also, as with all trends in football, just cause a team says they are going to do something, doesn't mean they will, doesn't mean they have the players needed to execute well, and certainly doesn't mean they'll be good at it. See using RB in the slot, 3rd safety, etc.
@angelo_fantasy@SigmundBloom That is what seems most likely to me. Kyler boom/bust, but Jefferson will probably be solid with Kyler locking in on his top guy. Think the ones to fade are Addison, Jennings, & Hockenson.
@friscojosh I think the other factor is bias toward certain GMs, especially Howie. Same analyst that will chide the Cards taking Love at 3 would declare Howie a genius If Eagles took him first overall.
@SharpFootball Ranked #32 of 42 for quickest release (time to throw), so he spent more time waiting to throw than everyone but mobile QB's like Maye, Lamar, Caleb, etc. OL definitely a problem, but getting the ball out quicker will help too. Tua one of the fastest, so McDaniel may help.
@LateRoundQB I can agree its possible NFL makes this terrible, but might be good for the NFL overall & may have similar shot of not being a big deal. Gambling is big for NFL, so can't imagine NFL wants to hurt that industry with this. Also, I'm a fan of yours, just different opinion on this.
