Platner's campaign saying, "yeah, he did say he'd rape people, but he only meant men, and not in a gay way" may be the most incredible political response I've ever seen.
Slow clap for Bernie Sanders.
Why did leftists decide that manifestly low conscientiousness is a mark of "authenticity"? They did it with Fetterman, it blew up in their face, and now they've done it again with Platner: falling in love with an obviously unreliable underemployed weirdo. https://t.co/cid5VoEtsW
The ex-staffers speaking out against Platner is a very bad signal too. Democratic staffers are mostly risk-averse types who want to preserve their equity for future jobs, not the types to get out of line if they think their candidate is a good person at heart.
@SallyGold I'm confused and don't fully understand what you mean by the mayor and his people aren't "leaking" when it's a story about what the mayor is thinking and only a few people know? Someone (or more) told you something about what the mayor is thinking, how is that not a leak?
The New York Knicks are going to the NBA Finals.
Before we get there, let's honor the sacrificial lambs.
A thread on every washed-up former star who came to the Garden for a paycheck between 1999 and 2020 (pre-Leon Rose).

@mdubowitz I mean this with respect — Have you considered the possibility that maybe the battlefield victories are less impressive than you think which is why the deal seems worse than you are expecting? From a Bayesian sense that’s probably most likely… no?
This isn’t just political theater, or electoral pandering - it’s hard strategy. The goal of Ben Gvir’s theatrics is to ensure that Israel is increasing isolated. An Israel that is turned inward, convinced that it is up against the wall, is an Israel where he can win elections.
The idea that the minister of internal security doesn’t represent the government or its policy toward prisoners is obviously crazy and if they aren’t going to fire BG then they need a different talking point
As @IsraeliPM Netanyahu and FM @gidonsaar have made clear, Itamar Ben Gvir’s reckless grandstanding is not representative of government policy.
I am Israel’s top diplomat in the U.S., at the heart of our most important alliance. Ben Gvir’s antics take a sledgehammer to our diplomatic efforts while Israel’s enemies gleefully jump on every unfortunate nonsense to discredit and demonize.
The provocateurs of the Flotilla charade were properly detained in accordance with international law and will be deported to their home countries.
End of story.
