@amarsidhu_ I think it's better to learn from the mistakes of our ancestors in order to progress. After all, so called traditional wisdoms include caste discrimination, patriarchies, racism etc as well as belief in superstitions, the supernatural, religion etc, which has done untold damage.

@RelMedCentre I think we'll likely see declines in other religious groups once kids are given the freedom to think freely and allowed to critique their own belief systems. Religion is becoming less and less relevant in increasingly scientifically literate societies.

@LukePollard Perhaps teaching children how ridiculous and dangerous it can be to believe in something like religious doctrine without any evidence would be a a more fruitful exercise in terms of a child's development?

@LukePollard We also need every child to have an education in how to critique religion and other belief systems so they realise how silly and dangerous it is to believe in something based on faith and 'received wisdoms' rather than evidence.

@Jhatkalover Interesting to see the non-religious numbers increase so much. Most of this seems to have come from the Christian community but I imagine other religious communities will eventually transfer once they have the freedom and confidence to critique/question their own belief systems.

@darshnasoni Historic moment, yes, but does he really have an electoral mandate? For the sake of democracy and his political authority, the best thing would be for him to set out his vision and policies and then call a general election.

Nonetheless, can we really classify these crimes as anti-Sikh, i.e., did perpetrators target these victims because they were Sikh or was it mainly because they were non-white or perhaps mistaken for Muslims?

@BaazNewsOrg @jindisinghka I do agree that we need subject matter experts advising museums on Sikh history, theology and practices, however, what we don't need is museums to become subsidiaries of Gurdwaras. We need objective analysis of history and theology displayed, not religious propaganda.
