🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Protesters in Los Angeles just projected an anti-ICE video onto a building.
And it wasn’t just any building.
It was Twin Towers, an ICE-linked detention facility where LASD actively collaborates with ICE for deportation screening.
This is what resistance looks like when people stop pretending everything is normal.
Stop using “he was a U.S. citizen” as if Alex Pretti and Renée Good’s lives mean more.
They risked their lives because they did not think their American citizenship made them more deserving of dignity and humanity than neighbors who might not be “citizens.”
Alex and Renée were more than citizens—they were human beings helping other human beings.
In face of ICE’s inhumanity, being human is hard.
Heavy rains have deepened Gaza's misery, flooding tents in which many thousands of people are huddled, exposed to winter. A baby recently died of hypothermia.
Israel continues to restrict humanitarian aid, including tents. Nothing but silence from Trump. We must not forget Gaza.
Anyone paying attention has seen the condition of many Palestinian captives freed from Israeli prisons. Emaciated, abused, tortured, scabies & other skin rashes. The condition of these Palestinians held by the U.S.-backed Israeli govt. receive scant Western media coverage.
People are more upset at performers/artists attending Trump’s inaugural events but not upset at all the politicians who told them he was a “threat to democracy” going to these events are not serious.
Performers at least know they are there to perform and get paid, but these politicians who ran their mouth for 4 yrs and are now willing to be there and clap for him, that’s who they should be mad at. They lied to you and your criticism/anger should be rightfully directed at them.
Also, no one should ask people who are performers/artists to be loyal to a party because that’s what dictatorships do. In a free country like ours, people should be able to support any party they want without having their livelihood compromised.
An AEA Ombuds Team member, Nnena Odim, will be onsite during the #ASSA2025 meeting, on the lobby level of the Hilton SF Union Square in the Marina Room. Feel free to visit during office hours or contact Nnena at 617-898-0938 or [email protected] to set up an appointment.
Really useful info in the blog below about the strikes at #ASSA2025 and how to participate if you want to support striking workers.
One easy way: change your hotel reservation! AEA has extended the deadline to change to Dec 12

@DrJenCohen Just quick FYI. The ASSA program will show updated locations. Some orgs are still finalizing plans but once all the info is shared it will show up.
“I’m on strike for my son who has autism. He’s 16 years old and needs regular doctor visits. Even if we get a wage increase, without health insurance then all my money will go towards healthcare.”- Jorge, banquet houseman for 35 years at Marriot Marquis.
The AEA's annual conference is at the @HiltonSFUnionSq, where @UniteHereL2 workers are on strike.
The AEA should not do business with hotels where workers are striking.
The AEA should not make attendees cross the picket line.

“I’m on strike because I want to keep my health insurance. I have a medical condition where I need tests that would cost thousands of dollars without insurance.” - Warren, busser, Grand Hyatt
NWS has issued Red Flag warnings for tomorrow for Mid-Hudson, NYC, LI, Capital and portions of the Southern Tier and Mohawk Valley Regions through 6 pm Tuesday. Warm temps, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
After a month-long siege on the city of Beit Lahia in North Gaza, the Israeli military bombed a five-story building yesterday, killing nearly 100 Palestinians, including 25 children, with at least 40 others still missing. For a week, the Israeli military has been firing directly at civilian homes. 🧵
A frank and productive exchange of views with my counterpart on key issues like expanding the global supply of candy and toys and tightening sanctions against chores.
So far the penalties or accountability measures the IDF and Netanyahu government experience for failure to meet State’s basic expectations regarding civilian safety are invisible, if they exist at all.
I just listened to the full @callherdaddy podcast feat. @KamalaHarris and man oh man, mainstream media/corporate media could learn a lot from how this interview was conducted. It was singularly the best and most informative interview of this election cycle thus far.
