Semester 1 has finally come to an end. Thank you @Davo452 for all your efforts in our EDFD452 unit. I’m very grateful for all the stories and wisdom you have shared with us throughout the semester. #acuedu_p
Noticed this behavioural management strategy at a school I have been casual teaching at. Such a great way to positively encourage students and remind them to be kind and show respect. #acuedu_p
A great demonstration of some common Key Word Signs we use everyday in my classroom. Also super useful for everyone to know in general. You never know when you might need it! #acuedu_p#kws#auslan#disabilityed
Love this display in the classroom! Great reminder for students to change the way they think to help overcome obstacles they may face in their learning. #acuedu_p
I just put these prompts up today. I had used these hand signals as a form of student self-assessment in my last primary practicum experience, and was so excited to implement this strategy moving forward with my new class! #acuedu_p
During this week’s live lecture, Mr Wahab was incredibly informative in providing practical tips for what to expect in an interview. The tutorial was also helpful in allowing us to reflect on our own teacher identity and achieving our ideal teacher identity. #acuedu_p
This week we had a Mother’s Day picnic at the school where families could have lunch together. It was great meeting families and having such positive interactions! Very fitting with this week’s EDFD452 tutorial. #acuedu_p
This week’s EDFD452 tutorial was insightful as we spoke about the importance of timetabling and the NESA requirements for each KLA. I especially enjoyed looking at the different timetables from the students in our class and discussing their experiences in the classroom. #acuedu_p
Such great ideas! Instead of moving on to another student, I think it’s important to encourage students to give it a go and reassure them that mistakes are just learning opportunities. #acuedu_p
I especially enjoyed this week’s EDFD452 tutorial on behaviour management. I loved hearing David’s useful tips and stories as well as Bill Roger’s videos which gave a great insight into approaching different scenarios in the classroom. #acuedu_p
An interesting method of managing classroom interruptions- students silently use hand signals to indicate what they need, and the teacher can simply nod yes or no. It avoids the verbal ‘I need to go to the toilet’ and the 100 other ‘me too’s that follow. #acuedu_p
For the rest of the semester, I would like to explore a range of effective strategies to manage challenging behaviour in the classroom and on the playground #acuedu_p
I’m our EDFD452 unit, I have enjoyed exploring the AITSL standards and understanding the importance of reflecting on areas for further development #acuedu_p
Having my learning Intentions all in one place has been a very successful inclusion in my classroom this year. It has been super easy to keep updated and useful for students to throughout lessons! #acuedu_p
Casual teaching has enabled me to explore different strategies and teaching styles across the various grades. It has taught me so much and I’ve definitely gained more confidence as a teacher! #acuedu_p
