Roger Waters, Guy Pearce, Annie Ernaux, and other artists have released an open letter calling for "concrete action" to help Palestinians.

Who is this letter directed to? The Venice Biennale and the Venice Film Festival, of course.

In their letter, they call for action against what they describe as a genocide against the Palestinian people.

One apparent solution, according to their letter, is to “raise the Palestinian flag for the entire duration of the festival alongside all the other flags representing the films present in the official selection".

I'm not sure if these people are promoting a comedy at the festival, or truly don't understand how much of a joke they sound like.

In all seriousness, it's disheartening that people like Rogers will be celebrated for something so performative like this. I want nothing more than peace and decency for Palestinians, but I know writing a letter for attention is not helpful.
