Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.
UPDATE: "The US is concerned by the arrest of over 90 Ugandan citizens peacefully demonstrating against corruption and commends the courage of the media to ensure the Ugandan public stays informed. We urge that any allegations of individuals assaulted in detention be investigated and perpetrators be held accountable," US Mission Uganda. #MonitorUpdates

Leaving home for Thursday

" If it was a patriotic, anti- corruption, peaceful demonstration coordinated with the police I Would have been the first to join " -YKM
Most patriotic leaders are particularly silent about this would be ideal demonstration because of the disguise it bares with foreign interests.
It's unfortunate that many innocent young people are unknowingly used for political reasons that endup downplaying the genuine causes they stand for as the President has clarified.
@PoliceUg should help substantiate the innocent misled ones to get released.
The fight against Corruption is one for every patriotic Uganda and it starts by you not being corrupt or an agent of corruption.
Several young people- anti-corruption protesters who were violently arrested this week have spoken of how they were raped (sodomized) by the men who took them.
Many of the NUP/ People Power supporters who have been abducted in the past were raped in detention - both male and female. Only a few of them had the courage to publicly speak about their ordeal. Very many of them have reported to us but fear or feel ashamed to speak about it in public.
Those who have spoken publicly about being sodomized, with medical evidence include Ronald Mayega, Alex Kalyowa and Mukasa Joseph. The female victims are such a big number.
The regime continues to shield the perpetrators of these heinous crimes against our people. Such a shame that the Museveni regime continues to use sexual violence as a tool of torture and subjugation- as they did during the Northern Uganda war. There must and shall be accountability for these crimes against humanity!
#FreeUganda
Can someone @PoliceUg issue a statement about this sodomy allegation of suspects arrested during #March2Parliament? The silence makes it look true & this kills some of us associated with the institution. I beg, issue a statement now @mkituuma@Patrickonyango1@Lukowoyesigyire
Instead of addressing the issues affecting the youth, the government is asking who paid you to talk about the issues affecting the you, like “who paid you to talk about the unemployment yet you have no job”, who paid you to talk about corruption yet you are over taxed by URA?
Ahead of our planned activities in Bugweri, Pallisa and Soroti this weekend, the partisan police is through Frank Mwesigwa has yet again blocked our mobilisation activities! While other political parties and actors continue to have their activities including processions and rallies, the regime is always looking for any excuse to block us!
We have done everything to remain civil and non-violent. They are pushing us to a point where we must RESIST all this madness!
