@bronzebust@Noahpinion There’s nothing wrong with the land. You could build there. If you have the budget, you can build in space. But the voters prefer parks to neighbors. Votes represent the current residents only, not people who would have lived there if housing had been available.
@askgodswill@EricTopol Thanks for the advice! Maybe my tele-NP could be nudged to prescribe a custom dose. But maybe I want my pills mixed up in “the big batch” rather than an actual custom compounded medication.
@askgodswill@EricTopol I’ve already lost my goal of 15 pounds over 4 months on 1.6 mg daily sublingual tirzepatide. Trying to decide what to do for maintenance. Will continue the same dose for another $600 then maybe try cutting them in half. New pill is cheaper at $149 but grey market will also drop.
@aaro44288@EricTopol The “microdose” of sublingual tirzepatide is 2/3 the starting dose for morbid obesity, not 1/1000. I lost 15 pounds which was my goal. No side effects.
@SouthwestAir I bought tickets for my kids for my dad’s funeral with my SW credit card but they didn’t get the free bag and wifi that I expected. The one with celiac was told he couldn’t have pistachios because they’re in preferred not extra legroom. Never choosing you again!
@JohnHowardRoar1@JoelWBerry Can someone explain “elderly on fixed incomes?” Social security is indexed for inflation, many have paid-off homes with huge increase in value, they get Medicare, plus a lifetime of savings, some even have pensions. And I work. My salary is also “fixed,” isn’t it?
@vivekgirotra@aerockrose We played that at dinner time as children and of course usually won in 5 once my little sister “got it” except when my dad chose 0 and my mom argued
@ashleyschendel The seniors have spent a lifetime accumulating assets. Many have pensions as well as a stipend from the govt. They may have no mortgage. They have Medicare. They are in general much wealthier than the rest of use whose taxes subsidize them.
@GearoidReidy While waiting at a large bus depot in Tokyo, there were two security guards overseeing about 30 people waiting. At the 42 St bus terminal in Manhattan it would have been unattended. Safety costs money. We apparently aren’t willing to pay as much as the Japanese do.
@cbartus@zapatas_mom Remember that people who own cars think of the related expenses as unavoidable. The purchase price or monthly payment, insurance, maintenance and repairs, fuel for most..doesn’t “feel” limiting.
