مزے کی بات ہے کہ جن سیاسی لیڈروں نے عوام کے مسائل حل کرنے تھے‘ عوام کو الٹا ان کے مسائل حل کرنا پڑ رہے ہیں۔ جنہوں نے عوام کو ان کے حقوق دلانے تھے‘ الٹا عوام سب کام چھوڑ کر سڑکوں پر نکلے ہوتے ہیں کہ ہمارے لیڈروں کو ان کے بنیادی انسانی حقوق دو۔ جنہوں نے عوام کا علاج کرانا تھا، وہی عوام الٹا ان کا علاج کرانے میں دن رات ایک کیے ہوئے ہے۔

کبھی نواز شریف تو کبھی زرداری تو کبھی عمران خان کے حامی اپنے لیڈرز کو جیل میں حقوق اور سہولتیں دلوانے ک�� لیے سڑکیں گرم کیے ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ تینوں ایک دوسرے کو جیلوں میں ڈال کر ان کے حامیوں اور میڈیا کو دن رات مصروف رکھتے ہیں۔

وہی عوام ہی اپنے انہی لیڈروں کیلئے سڑکوں پر گولیاں کھاتے ہیں‘ جیلوں میں جاتے ہیں‘ کوڑے کھاتے ہیں‘ اپنے گھر تباہ کراتے ہیں‘ عدالتوں میں دھکے کھاتے ہیں اور سوشل میڈیا پر سارا دن اپنے لیڈر کو مظلوم ثابت کرنے کیلئے جھوٹی سچی کہانیاں گھڑتے رہتے اور مخالفین کو گالیاں دیتے رہتے ہیں۔ لیڈرز یہ سوچ کر ہی مزے میں رہتے ہیں کہ لوگ اپنے خاندان، بچوں اور کاروبار کی فکر چھوڑ کر ان کے لیے گولیاں کھا رہے ہیں، جیلیں بھگت رہے ہیں، پولیس یا ریاست کا تشدد بھگت رہے ہیں۔

اس کٹ مار کی سہولت باری باری سب لیڈروں کے ورکرز کو ملتی رہتی ہے۔ ریاست اور پولیس کا بھی غصہ نکلتا رہتا ہے۔ یوں سب کا کام چل رہا ہے۔۔

Matiullah Jan and YouTuber Asad Toor invited foreign journalists in Islamabad for covering the US-Iran talks to the National Press Club where they were represented with special mementos.

Matiullah Jan and Asad Toor then proceeded to give a political speech to the foreignjournalists in which they criticised the present government and spoke about how freedom of media was under threat in Pakistan.

What they said is their opiniona and they have a right to hold it. However, what they don't have a right to do is to mislead the foreign jouralists whom they had invited as to the purpose of the invitation.

One of the foreign reporters who attended, the New York Post's Caitlin Doornbos actually tweeted to say that she did not know that her attendance at the event and pics would be used as part of an exercise to bad mouth the very government of country where they were guests.

She wrote: "Did anyone ask the foreign journalists whose photos are now associated with this how they felt about it? Personally, I feel deceived and used. I would have enjoyed learning more about the media landscape privately, but our images were blasted out in association with a political statement implying our solidarity in criticizing a foreign government in which we’re guests."

Both Matiullah Jan and Asad Toor clearly misrepresented to their foreign guests the purpose of the invitation and tried to equate the attendace of the foreign journalits as some kind of endorsement for their (Matiullah Jan's and Asad Toor's) political views.

The widespread hospitality and warmth experienced by foreign journalists in Islamabad for the talks has now been ruined by Matiullah Jan's and Asad Toor's antics and attempt to use the invitation and eventual attendance of the foreign journalists to make a political point.

That they want to make a political point is their right but to use the foreign journalists as part of that is shameful and should be condemned. No wonder the New York Post reporter also said that she felt "deceived" and that no one asked them how they felt about their pics being used.
