"This is all about our country. I love the USA. I love my teammates. I'm so proud to be an American today…. Just a ballsy, gutsy win...that's American hockey right there."
Jack Hughes after scoring the game winning goal
Congrats to @seppstraka for winning the @TruistChamp , and congrats to Philadelphia Cricket Club for showing beautifully as a stand-in venue this week.
I’m (usually) not one to pat my own back, but I had a lot of people calling me out this week on my predictions that the course would stand up well. So many people thought the course was too short, or too open, or too bland, and that guys were going to hang 58s all over the place.
I predicted a winning score below -20 (actual: -16), a low round of the week at 62 (actual: 61), and Justin Thomas as the winner (actual: T2). Damn close.
But most of all, I’m just proud of Philly Cricket. I’m not a member here, but I play here very often, and I know many of the members and staff. As a Philly guy, it’s a club I care about, and I’m very happy for the members, the staff and the grounds crews for showing that this 103-year-old Tilly classic can still give the best players in the world, playing with modern clubs and a modern ball, a good game.
