Prof. Gobardhan Das, Member, NITI Aayog, met the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, and chaired a review meeting with Madhya Pradesh Rajya NITI Aayog and senior State officials to review the progress of key development initiatives and discuss opportunities to accelerate the State's growth through cooperative federalism.

The discussions highlighted Madhya Pradesh's development priorities, including innovation and entrepreneurship through Startup MP, and the need for greater convergence among national institutions in the State. Prof. Das encouraged the State to leverage its untapped potential by prioritising key sectors such as education, agriculture, mining, and health, supported by robust monitoring, clear action plans, and outcome-oriented roadmaps.

The meeting also focused on creating an enabling ecosystem to attract talent, investment, tourism, and industry, while strengthening food processing, exports, and institutional infrastructure. Emphasis was laid on undertaking a comprehensive gap analysis to ensure balanced and inclusive development, with a long-term vision of establishing Madhya Pradesh as a hub for education, innovation, and healthcare, while ensuring equitable development, particularly for tribal communities.

Strengthening sports medicine for India’s athletes!

The Sports Injury Centre (SIC), Safdarjung Hospital, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, signed an MoU to strengthen sports medicine and healthcare services for athletes.

The collaboration will enhance injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, sports science support, research, medical education, capacity building, and innovation in evidence-based sports medicine, reinforcing India’s commitment to athlete health and sporting excellence.
