Too often Black people, particularly Black Women are forced to police themselves. Some of this is rooted in their own safety and also to avoid stereotypes of being angry. Praising restraint robs Black Women of a natural human emotion - anger. It's also dehumanizing. 2/2

I'm not sharing that video with the University of Kentucky student, but what I will say is that praising the victim for her restraint isn't as commendable as you think it is.

As a newly minted researcher, I'm going to be comparing lava flows in the San Francisco Volcanic Field and in Hawaii by using photogrammetry and making my own thin sections.🤩

I hope to use this info to build a virtual field trip and teach an activity at @GeospaceUF 2023!
