It has been one year since the enforced disappearance of Ghani Baloch, an MPhil scholar and Central Committee member of NDP who was forcibly disappeared by security forces from Khuzdar on 25 May 2025. Despite the passage of an entire year his family continues to live in anguish & uncertainty without any information regarding his whereabouts. The continued silence surrounding his disappearance raises serious concerns regarding human rights, justice and the rule of law. Enforced disappearances are a grave violation of human dignity and inflict deep and lasting trauma on families who are left waiting without answers.

We strongly demand the immediate and safe release of Ghani Baloch and call for an end to the ongoing practice of enforced disappearances.

The pattern of enforced disappearances followed by extrajudicial killings reflects a systematic campaign against the Baloch population. Saeed Muhammad was forcibly disappeared on 9 December 2025 and killed after 145 days, his body recovered on 3 May 2026. Khuda Peer Muhammad and his son Abdullah Baloch were forcibly disappeared on 2 May 2026 and killed within hours. Ayaz Baloch was target killed on 30 April 2026 in Panjgur. These cases demonstrate a consistent and deliberate pattern of abuse.

These actions constitute clear violations of international human rights obligations. The right to life under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is being breached. Enforced disappearance violates established international protections, while extrajudicial killings and arbitrary detention contravene prohibitions on unlawful deprivation of life and inhuman treatment.

Such actions are incompatible with legal guarantees of fundamental rights. The victims were denied due process, access to independent courts, and the right to legal representation. Authorities failed to disclose their whereabouts during detention, placing them outside legal protection. This conduct reflects a serious breach of constitutional safeguards and the rule of law.

The continued lack of accountability and international response risks normalizing these violations. Independent and transparent investigations are required into each case. Those responsible must be held accountable in accordance with the law. Immediate and sustained international attention is essential to address the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan.

We Demonstrate our Heartbreak to see such a Vast Array Curriculum Books Discarded as Waste

A video of Gwadar is circulating on social media showing a vast array of curriculum books of Balochistan Textbooks Board is reduced to a pile of garbage. These books were printed and distributed to district Gwadar for 2024-25 academic year. However, it has now been found that the books have been thrown away as garbage at the office of District Education Officer (DEO) Gwadar. All claims of an educational emergency appear to be rhetoric rather than the truth and reality; The public has been led into a fallacy instead of being shown the actuality.

This incident is not only about books being found in the trash; it is a testament to the fact that the education system has fundamentally failed to uphold the quality education. This is not an isolated case, however, there are likely hundreds of such cases to be investigated. Though, people reveal only very few cases and details in this regard.

Under the literacy campaign— Baloch Literary Campaign (BLC)— we appeal the concerned higher authorities to immediately take notice of this gross incompetency and ensure a transparent investigation into the matter aforementioned.
