PTM Canada Condemns the Enforced Disappearance of Activist Farid Afridi in Peshawar

PTM Canada strongly condemns the reported abduction of peaceful activist Farid Afridi from Arbab Road, Peshawar.
This incident is not an isolated case but reflects a broader pattern of repression, where enforced disappearances, extrajudicial actions, and intimidation have become recurring practices in Pashtun and Baloch regions.
Such practices violate fundamental human rights and stand in direct contradiction to constitutional guarantees, democratic freedoms, and international human rights standards. Enforced disappearances create a climate of fear, silence dissent, and deny citizens access to legal protection and due process.
Communities in the Pashtun belt have long faced military operations, displacement, and severe economic and social consequences. The continued disappearance of political and civil society activists deepens this crisis.
PTM Canada calls upon:
• International human rights organizations
• UUnited Nations Human Rightsagencies
• The Government of Canada
• Global democratic institutions
to condemn these actions and raise urgent concern over the suppression of political and civil rights in the region.
We demand:
• Immediate and safe release of Farid Afridi
• Disclosure of whereabouts of all enforced disappeared persons
• End to enforced disappearances and political repression

یہ contrasting رویہ اس بات کا واضح ثبوت ہے کہ بلاول بھٹو کی حکومت سیاسی کارکنوں اور انسانی حقوق کے داعیوں کے ساتھ عسکری حلقوں کی خوشنودی کے لیے انسانیت سوز سلوک کر رہی ہے۔ پیپلز پارٹی درحقیقت صرف اقتدار کے حصول تک لفظی طور پر جمہوریت اور انسانی حقوق کی بات کرتی ہے، جبکہ حقیقت میں وہ عسکری ظلم و جبر کی مکمل سہولت کار ہے۔
