Dear friends and colleagues, please note that I have changed my username to @SharmaForestLab. Earlier I tweeted from @FL_Silviculture. Please use @SharmaForestLab for future communication. Thanks.
Uneven-aged management can lead to sustainable forests for multiple benefits. Many landowners in the southeast US are converting their pine stands from even- to uneven-aged. Our new paper describes how trees grow during the transition period https://t.co/fbUgjfMs8b
I had a great time attending @IUFRO#iufro2024 in Stockholm, Sweden, meeting some old friends while making some new, giving talks, and experiencing the life in the beautiful city.
I enjoyed teaching a concentrated 3-cr course in Forest Biology during summer practicum at the beautiful Solon Dixon Center of @aucfwe. For two weeks, we all lived and worked at the Dixon Center and immersed ourselves in this unique hands-on learning and teaching experience.
@VaishaliSh9931@VaibhavSinghIFS@kundan_ifs@ukfrihaldwani Fire is ecologically important process in many forests of the world and is essential to their sustainability. It does increase air pollution temporarily and emits carbon, however, in the long term, we expect it to prevent catastrophic wildfires and improve air & environments.
๐ขWe are hosting a workshop on our web-based platform (https://t.co/867byEvM2A) for assessing the impact of hurricanes on forest ecosystems in Florida. Register here: https://t.co/RAfNpSTg6x @SFFGS_UF@SilvaLabUF
Pleased to share our new paper led by my graduate student @HWforestecology (his first lead-author pub; ๐๐๐). An important contribution to understanding the mechanisms driving shifts in floodplain forest composition. @aucfwe https://t.co/a3MS8KquVL
