#APPEAL | Do you know this man who can help with our enquires following a reported sexual assault in a Liverpool city centre?
Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who may have information that could assist enquiries following a report of a sexual assault in a Liverpool city centre.
At around 2.30am on Sunday 26 April it was reported that a woman was with her friend at Hot Sport takeaway on Temple Court (near Matthew Street) when two men approached them and engaged in conversation.
One man, who is believed to have a Welsh accent, then touched one woman inappropriately before leaving the takeaway.
Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: “This was a disgraceful attack on a woman, and I would like to reassure the public that incidents such as this are rare. The victim is very shaken and understandably very distressed by this ordeal.
“We are taking this incident extremely seriously and carrying out a number of lines of enquiry to find the person responsible. This incident took place in a busy area of the city, so if you were in the vicinity at this time and witnessed the incident or have information which will help with our enquiries then please contact us.
“I am also appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
Det Insp Berry added: “Providing support to victims of sexual assault has never been more important, and I would encourage anyone experiencing this to report it to us and we will support you every way we can.
"If anyone who has suffered a sexual offence and you can find the courage to come forward and speak to us, we will deal with you sensitively and make sure that reports are thoroughly investigated."

Detectives are looking for Temitope Segun who absconded from a prison transport van in Woolwich on Mon, 8 June - last seen wearing an all-black outfit and trainers.
He links has to Woolwich, Plumstead & Abbey Wood.
If seen, do not approach, and dial 999 quoting 2270/10JUN.
As a Japanese watching the UK right now, I have one simple question.
A Sudanese asylum seeker just tried to behead a local man in Belfast. The victim lost an eye.
This comes after years of grooming gangs raping thousands of British girls — gangs that police and councils deliberately ignored because they were afraid of being called racist.
In Japan, even one case like this would have triggered national outrage and immediate policy reversal.
But in Britain, the conversation is still about “not being far-right.”
British people, at what point does protecting your own children become more important than protecting your reputation?
We genuinely do not understand this.
An important post to share please - it concerns an ex-police officer (PC Christi Hill) who has been incorrectly named all over social media as one of the officers involved in the Henry Nowak case.
Urgent, please retweet to help Ella find a home #Essex- can re home to other areas #UK

ELLA DESPERATELY NEED A FOSTER OR FOREVER!
SHE'S MAKING ALL HER FEET BLEED FROM STRESSING SO MUCH IN KENNELS 💔💔
Ella is a retired Hampshire Police Dog who was born December 2020. She had to be retired as she lost her bark! Ella is microchipped and spayed and we are told fully vaccinated. Sadly needs a new home as she is not very children tolerant and Hampshire Police are not interested in taking her back as they say an agreement was signed so not their problem anymore!
Ella is selective with other dogs but has actually improved since being in her new owner since May this year. A no to cats. Fine with adults, including delivery drivers, but has had operational bites during her working time as you would expect. Fine being left with no destruction but she does have an outside kennel. She comes indoors at night and sleeps in a crate.
As you would also expect. Ella is good on lead, recall and has extensive commands, and of course is very toy driven! No issues over food or toys and fine with vets.
Ella was taken into foster with a view to adopt however, sadly her foster mum is unable to commit to her long term due to health issues and feels she needs a ‘stronger’ home. She now lives happily in the house with another dog, so no problems there, and likes a crate for her safe space. Needs further work with not reacting to other dogs when out and about on lead.
Anyone who has Mali experience and wants a fun girl with loads going for her, Ella is definitely for you!
Sharing is caring.

@Was_Sgt__S So sad. I attended one like this years ago. He was 15, swimming in a remote pool and just disappeared beneath the water. Police divers recovered his body 😔 Always stuck with me.
